LOL, I know this is going to be a controversail subject around here.....so I thought it would be fun

What do you think? I want to give my baby my last name. I don't want to marry the father and even if I did I'm not changing my name. It doesn't make any sense to me to have my kids have a different last name then me. We do plan to be together so one of us will have to sacrifice, but I don't see why it should automatically be me because of some lame tradition. I thought about doing the hypen thing, but thats just not practical. Plus, he has two kids already with his last name, so its balanced. Whats the big deal? I'm bearing them, no matter what happens there staying with me, so how does it make sense to give them his last name?

and oh by the way if you can't tell, I'm ultra liberal.

Ok I will be 38 wks on Tuesday since yesterday I have been having this weird felling in my stomach. It's like I feel like I am getting sick and going to get the runs but then it goes away. Sometimes I will feel my stomach tighten but not all the time. It really is uncomfortable, I was wondering if these are sings labor is getting closer?

i'm 24 weeks pregnant, i spent most of thurs and most of friday in hospital with pains in my abdomin, back, and across my stomach, and sickness, due to the pain. i had blood and urine tests carried out and seen 2 doctors who concluded there was nothing wrong with me, and my pain could be due to a bug or braxton hicks, so i got allowed home. i was fine all day sat but woke this morning around 6am with the pain again across my tummy and in my back, i got them every 30-40 mins and they would go away after i got up and walked around. This lasted untill about 9am, Im wondering if these could be braxton hicks, or not as they are extremly painful, any experience of braxton hicks would be appreciated? thanks

i had a quick labour for a start i didnt even no i was having contractions then in hospital i was fully dilated and could only have gas and air and i didnt find it that pain full, did anyone experience simular situation

I turned 9 weeks this week and I look like I am 5 months. I had a miscarriage in July and I hear that you are more fertal the first 3 months after having one. What are the chances that I may be carring twins? I cant go to the doctor until I am 12 weeks. I have also been experencing my hips sounding like they are poping when I walk, is that normal? Did anyone experience extremely sore boobs in the first trimester? My boobs hurt all the time to the touch and just when i run up stairs or put my arms over my head.. I have been feeling a weird feeling in my nipples its like a pain but it never stays more then a couple of seconds?

Im 37 weeks 1cm dialated and 60% effaced as of tuesday so it could be more now; I wiped myself and there was a brown discharge in the tissue its not sticky, I've been having light menstrual period like cramps but it doesnt go away so I cant time it. Our daughter is 3yrs and 8 months now. I was telling her the story about Santa Claus and she was getting real excited. But then my wife starts telling me that she doesn't think it's a good idea to give her false incentives to be good. She also gives the old "I never believed in Santa Claus as a child and I turned out fine" routine. As for me, I just don't see the harm in it- sure, one day we'll tell her the truth when she's old enough to understand that her parents are just doing it to give her a special experience once a year. For now, I'm just enjoying her excitement about Christmas.

So my question is: do you think there's any disadvantages to teaching your children the Santa Claus myth? Do you think children would be affected negatively because you told them blatant mistruths?

I am 4.5 months pregnant and not really enjoying being pregnant. So many people that I know say they love being pregnant, I am not one of them and I actually cannot wait for it to be over! I feel bad for feeling this way and although my husband and I am excited for the end result, I am not having a good time. I am grouchy and emotional and feel gross.. I feel like I am not me anymore! My body is loosing muscle tone, my boobs are huge, I have no clothes that fit but I am not showing yet and way to small for maternity clothes..... have other woman felt this way. I am kind of depressed about it and I do not know how to get over it.
