My Brother in law has decided he wants a paternity test . He lives in SC and the baby is in Texas , since him and his brother have similar DNA is there any way he can take the test for him ?? and where would I look into getting the test done ???

there is no way he can take the test for him..even though that is his brother there genetic make-up is not alike...it won't work..

It's DNA, not blood type. That is the beauty of DNA testing--billions of people in the world and no one has the same DNA--not even identical twins. There are lots of labs that will do DNA or simple paternity testing. I assume he is going to pay for it?

Yes they might be brothers but they the father of the baby has to take the test because they have different DNA then his brother. you can look where you can take the test up in google.

Actually if it is his biological brother same mother and father, the baby will have the same genetic markers as the brother. Therefore I'm pretty sure you can do it that way.. you'll just have to tell the person performing the test that your just looking for the genetic markers

DNA could point out if it is the same family as their is a pattern in the code for genetics.

Odds would be much less than the standard 99.8 but at least he wouldn't have to make the journey for no reason!
