mucus plug also know as the "bloody show" its when a vessel in your cervix breaks and tints the plug with blood mostly an indication that labor may not be to long from now. It's completely normal...could be the result of the mucus plug or "bloody show" starting. I also had brownish discharge after my last pelvic at 38 weeks, so really any irritation to that area could cause this. Remember that if it is the mucus plug, it doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to deliver right now, it means that your body is preparing for labor....it is a prelabor sign. Good luck to you!

blood turns brown when it is coagulated (just how if you get a nosebleed on a shirt it eventually goes from bright red to staining brown).....it is probably more of your mucousa plug expelling from your body....

if the blood is bright red, then there is need for concern....

congrats!!!! i am due tomorrow (xmas) and havent even started to efface or dilate!!!! lucky girl!

spotting brown is normal for some pregnant woman..i had that for almost 2 weeks for my last preg though unfortunately i M/C...but i had fresh red bleeding on some days and sever backache when i was 11 weeks...
into my 12 weeks, i just lost my bb...

If you are not bleeding..then it could be " old blood" or implantation bleeding...dun be alarm..but do avoid jerky movements and carrying heavy stuff...hope it helps....lots of baby glue...

brown is just the color that blood turns when it's old. no need to worry. it's just old blood.
