You're very lucky!

I gave birth without drugs through personal choice, but I did find it very hard work.

Glad I did it though - you recover from the birth much more quickly I think if you don't have drugs.

I've had 7 kids,3 of them at home all quick labours with no more than gas and air which i agree didnt help, but i think at some point mother nature kicks in and you just focus on the end result,if you start off wanting all the pain relief theat all you will think about

Speaking on my wife's behalf, she was in labour with just gas and air, the best think for her was that it was a busy night so the nurse was not able to be at the bedside much so she had to cope the best she could on her own and did very admirably.
What i am getting at is that women can defend well for themselves but if there is a nursing figure present then they will rely on that person. Women can be tough. Also by the way i was there and did my part which may have helped.

my waters broke at 11 at night,i never got majorpains till about 5 the next morning, the contractions were really bad at the time even though they lasted 10 seconds each one,i only had gas and air too.I kept asking for an epidural during contractions but they were too close together, i started pushing at 10 and she was born at 10:28.I'm glad i didnt t the epidural because i think it would of lasted longer, without the epidural i was walking round, i was 1 centimetre dialated then took a shower, then half an hour later sha checked me and i was 9 so i would definitly recomend a shower for pain relief, just let aim it on the sore spots like your back

I did with all of mine. With the second baby, I had about an hour between my waters breaking and the baby's birth, and the whole of that hour was taken up with getting to the hospital (30 miles away!).

We're among the lucky ten percent who labour and deliver quickly. Just be sure to be close to the hospital if you get pregnant - you may well have an even shorter labour next time!

I had a quick labour with no pain releif.

(They kept saying I wasn't in established labour and then I dilated so quickly there wasn't time for any drugs)

But I did find it VERY painful.

Mind you, my waters had gone so the contractions were very strong.

Yes I did,arent we lucky.

First baby one and a half hours, fully dilated hardly any pain ,same with the second ,then half an hour with 3rd and 4th.

I often wonder whether I would have had 4 children if it had been painful, lol

Be thankful yours was so easy! I would totally do drug frr if I could have a fast labor. My first was 23 hours and my second was7 hours. I had drugs with both although not until i was about 12 hours in on the first and 4 hours in on the second!

My friend had no pain relief, she didn't even get to hospital - gave birth at home, she too didn't find it that painful. Says it was the best birth ever - no interference from 'third pary'.

By the way Merry Christmas to you and yours.
