Pregnancy & Parenting - 17 December 2006

Well me and my fiancee have been trying to make a baby for about 10 months now and I'm really getting aggravated I have a daughter already that just turned seven in October ; and it took almost a year then. I do have an irregular period and when I went to the doctor he gave me a perscription for some hormone pills called provera to regulate my period but I don't know if you can ovulate while taking that so what would you suggest

I seen a news show a while back about the developmental problems that were common in children adopted from crappy countries like Romania, etc. They gave these children brain scans and discovered that due to severe neglect and almost no early stimulation, portions of their brains failed to develop and showed almost no activity. The pediatrician said that the child would always have some degree of impairment, even into adulthood, despite the better surroundings of their new environment. I was wondering really if these kids have a decent shot at becoming happy, well adjusted and employed adults. I only ask this because a friend's brother actually had to return an adopted kid back to his group home setting because of severe behaviour problems. The birth Mom was a substance abuser, and the child was born with chemical dependencies :-( Any experience with this????

I am trying to concieve
As of now I am taking a Multivitamin Tablet containing 6000 IU or 1800 Mcg of Vitamin A
I have heard that taking high doses of Vitamin A is not suitable during or before pregnancy
Could anyone tell me the recommended dosage of Vitamin A?
What I am taking now is too high?

Ok i'm 20years, and my partner and i have been thinking about children for a while now, anyway i calculated when i was ovalulating this month, and the from the day i was ovalulating we tried and have been trying since that day,my period is due tomorrow and i have all the symtoms of when a period due, but as yet have not come on. i have no real symtoms of conceiving other than my breasts are slightly sore. Does this mean i haven't concieved this month and if so is this possible? and what can i do?

hi everyone i recently had a miscarriage and i'm trying for another baby, me and my partner are getting out first house in february(the one i grew up in dads movin in with partner nd lettin me have this one) the house needs redecorating and we r gonna paint it all if i end up pregnant again before then would it be safe to do that? i dont need anything oging wrong again this time

I am the mother of 4. I have a teen, a 4 year old, and twins that are almost 2. My fiance' has been talkng about getting pregnant again. All I can think about is who is going to help me with all the kids. If I get pregnant again with twins can I handle all six. Not to mention I am not the kind of person who likes to be pregnant...however I do love kids.Please help!!

I'm 16 years old, and I know my question sounds sad. My period is late, and I've suspected of being pregnant for a little while now. I'm inbetween jobs. I can't let my family find out about it because the father is from a hispanic country, and they are incredibly racist. I also know that he wouldn't be there to help. I'm 8 months pregnant and I've only gained 23lbs my entire pregnancy. I had a hard time gaining weight in the beginning and now that I am reaching the end I'm having the same issue.
I know toward the end your supposed to be gaining a pound a week but in between my last two appts. which were 2 weeks apart I have only gained 1/2lb.
I've always had a hard time gaining weight but now that I'm pregnant I am worried about the lack of weight gain for my babies sake.
I eat 5 to 6 small meals a day and I take my pre-natal vitamins, What else can I do to make sure I gain more weight and not get into trouble with my midwife again?!

Is there anything that you can do to help a young baby - under a month old - that seems to be bunged up with mucus. He sneezes quite a lot and it seems to get worse when he is crying and sometimes at night.

My baby has recently developed several angry red spots on his face, mainly his chin and cheeks and are not on any other part of his body. They came suddenly about three days ago and look like little insect bites. They don't seem to itch and he seems well enough in himself.

My ex has not been in the picture for about 3 years, my daughter lives with me and has not seen her mom in that long. I still talk to her family sometimes but i have no contact with her (her choice). Today i found out that my ex had a baby a while ago and so my daughter has a sister. The thing is that i don't know what to do about this situation, if my ex wanted our daughter to know then she would have said something but she didn't. The whole thing is, should i say something to my daughter about it or not say a word to her and not let her know, take into acount that there is no contact and my daughter will not see her half sister. Should i say something or just keep quiet about it and not mention it. My daughter is only 6, she may not understand things as a a grownup

I recently had a miscarriage and had to have a d&c done the day before Thanksgiving. I just started my period yesterday and it is horrible. My back is killing me and the bleeding is very heavy. I got up to go the restroom this morning to change my tampon. The water in the toilet was very red. Is it normal for the bleeding to be this heavy?

Im am 24 and pregnant with my first child. My boyfriend walked out and doesnt want a baby. So now im stuck alone and gotta raise this kid. He works a great job and said if i have him up for child support he will harm me! He is the father he should pay support when the baby is born! I Had Gotten my period on thanksgiving I counted my ovulation days and it was the 5th tru the 10th I tried every other day within those days and about a week ago I started getting sharp pain and my brest were sore the sharp pain would come and go as the day went by but yesterday I had eaten dinner and went home felling quesy I threw up I wanted to know if I could get morning sickness at night as stupid as that sounds it could be wat I ate fell bad but today I still feel quesy and my body hurts I did not miss my period yet so I don't know if its to early to even get symptoms but I was wondering wat those sharp pains could have been and if your brest hurt the whole time or it comes and goes away ? Also I wanted to know if takeing advil or peptobismal would harm the baby if I was or harm the conciving process cause I have been scared to take any meds for the pain well thank you and happy holidays hopefully ill have a new present this yr if not ill try again
