Here's the thing: most women are 'fertile' for only 3 days every month. After that, the egg is too far along its path to effectively implant itself in the uterus. And when you think about it, depending on the health of your husband and his little swimmers, there's really only a 36-hour window to get yourself guaranteed pregnant; sometimes, the little guys just get too pooped out to travel far up the fallopian tube.

Also, it's been proven that a guy who has sex every day is LESS likely to get his partner pregnant simply because he hasn't given his body enough time to make the amount of sperm required to get that one random swimmer to get to the egg. If you want to get pregnant that badly, cut back on the frequency of the sex and figure out when you'll be most fertile.

You don't say how long you've been trying, or for how many months, or how old you are?

Fertility is dependent in part on the woman's age. In general, the younger you are, the more fertile you are -- unless there's a problem. Most couples who have unprotected sex will get pregnant within one year (12 months).

To maximize your chances, count how many days there are in your menstrual cycle. Try to have intercourse 14 days before your period is due. This is when you are most fertile (this is when you ovulate). For the man to be at his fertile best, you should have sex every 48 hours (every two days) rather than every day.

Use "Pre-seed" brand personal lubricant. You can buy it online and it can boost fertility.

Also, after intercourse, elevate your feet above your heart (put them on the wall or on the headboard) for 30 minutes. Don't get up for the rest of the night, even to pee. Don't use douches or tampons.

Make sure your man wears cotton boxers not briefs. (and not too tight jeans or pants). Niether of you should spend time in a hot tub or hot bath because higher temperatures kills sperm and can damage a pregnancy.

Both of you should aim for an ideal, healthy weight, and take daily mutlivitamins. Daily exercise, such as walking for 30 minutes, can also improve your health and your fertility.

Both of you should avoid ALL caffiene, nicotine (smoking and tobacco) alcohol, prescription and street drugs. All of these things can impair your fertility, inluding caffiene (in coffee, tea, chocolate, and cola/soda/soft drinks) and can increase your chance of miscarraige.

Because having sex randomly doesn't do much good.

You have to have sex near the time you ovulate. Buy an OPK (ovulation predictor kit), chart your BBT (basal body temperature), observe your cervical mucus. Google any of those for more info. They're very easy.

Zero in on ovulation, using one of those methods, and have sex every day during the week you ovulate. The rest of the cycle, have sex every other day.

If you don't understand those terms, or why you want to have sex while you're ovulating, do some serious research on the female reproductive cycles before you go any further.

first off relaxe and have fun don't make it to be a have to do thing. 2nd i recommend using the ovulation calculator to help predict the days you're ovulating. and of course some of the other things that they give tips about is anything with the lady on the bottom is good and keep hips raised for 30 mins. afterwards. It took hubby and I about a year of actual tryin to concive. GL to you and your hubby.

It's all in the timing. Just relax and spend time with your husband. Both of you could get checked to see if you can get pregnant.

a woman has an 85% chance of getting pregnant in a year of having regular, unprotected sex, not 85% each time.

You might want to have yourself and the person you have been having sex with tested at a fertility clinic.
