I, personally, don't like teething chew toys. I bought teething pills for my last child who is now 10. I bought them at Walgreens, and now they probably sell them at Wal-Mart and K-Mart. They are made by Hyland. Hyland also makes Leg Cramp Pills which I started using for may older child who is now 14. I even use the leg cramp pills myself, even now. The formula they sold back 9 to 10 years ago was crumbly, lactose based. The teething pills did wonders in helping the baby relax and stop crying, and the leg cramp pills did wonders in allow my toddler sleep at night while growing like crazy. Both do wonders to help the kids be able to deal with their problems without so much misery. I would highly recommend the brand: Hyland.
The big problem with water filled chew toys is the bacteria in the water when the toy gets a hole in it. Very messy to say the least, very dangerous possibilities for the baby. You can't even be certain that sterile water was actually put in the chew toy, or even water for that matter.
My total recommendation would be the pills, they dissolve almost instantly, and the kid doesn't even really notice the pill until the taste something a little sweet, and by that time, they have already swallowed the medicine.
There is another company that sells homeopathic remedies by catalog and phone. The company name is LUYTIES, and their phone number is 1-800-466-3672.

Teething rings can be expensive and dangerous. My daughter loved to chew on frozen wash clothes. I would get them wet, ring them out, and put them in the freezer for about a half an hour. It's a lot easier than having to worry about a water filled one breaking.

My daughter never liked teething rings and so far neither has my son so with both I put wet wash cloths in the freezer and let them freeze (just wet about 1/4 of the cloth) when frozen let the baby comp away (under a watchful eye of course)

I try to avoid giving my children plastic toys, but when it came to teething, both of my babies needed something firmer than cloth, but softer than wood to gnaw on to relieve pressure. I discovered the Super Yummy Teether by Discovery Toys when my daughter was small, and it was invaluable! My son used it too, and I always buy one for expecting friends as I have never found a better option!
Do try Hyland's teething tablets too, as they help with the pain of teething.

Whichever one works--and some times, babies will surprise you. For my son it was actually a little wrench, lol. It had a rubberized handle for when his gums were hurting and the metal was cold and helped 'cut' the teeth! I had tried so many teething rings with him, but he kept going back to the wrench, so I just made sure to keep it clean and thanked my lucky stars that something worked.

GET THE 'LETGOMYEGGO' THAT YOU CAN SEPARATE INTO FOURTHS AND GIVE THEM THAT TO CHEW ON OR THE BITER BISCUITS FROM GERBER. IT'S CUTE TO GIVE A WHOLE PICKLE TOO, WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS THAT AGE I'D GIVE HER A PICKLE SHE WAS HAPPY AS A CLAM, IT'S COLD, TASTEFUL, AND CAN TAKE A GUM GNAWING.
