Ok, I just thought it wold be fun to see if this old wife's tale came true with anyone else. Have you heard that when ever your youngest baby gets its first tooth, that means another is on its way? With my first daughter, she got her first tooth two days before she turned 1 and I got pregnant when she was 13 months. My second daughter got her first tooth when she was 6 months old and now she is seven months old and I am 5 weeks pregnant! This happen to anyone else?

My 9 mo old has recently started crying everytime I sit him down in his pack and play, jumper, or activity center. He continuously cries until you pick him up and then he's fine. He either wants to be held or wants to crawl around and pull up on everything. As much as I would love to hold him or let him crawl around all the time that's just not feasible but if I have to put him down to go make a bottle or go in the kitchen for something he starts crying and doesn't stop until he's picked up. I've tried to let him cry it out, I've tried telling him Mommy will be back (not that he understands that). I don't know what else to do. Is this just a phase? I don't want to spoil him and have him think that if he just cries I will always pick him up. But It's like he throws a little temper tantrum and I don't want it to get worse or lead to worse behavior. Am I being too harsh?

I have been spotting today - it's either been light brown/pink in colour. It started at lunchtime and stopped about tea time. Is this normal? I had spotting but only a tiny amount when my period was due. I'm due to see the midwife on thursday anyway but any advice would be helpful.

I see how some people are on here calling people ignorant and stupid and then they claim they are the number one parents in the world. Don't you think that their kids will be as rude as they are?
How can they jump onto their own kid if their kid calls another kid dumb when they do the (the parents) same?

Can anyone out there think of older names that could still be cute yet are not too overused? Also it would be good if the name was shared by someone great.

For example: My sons name is Elijah Ryan (after Eli Whitney and my husband)

The next boy will be Edison Jack ( after Thomas Edison and I just like the name Jack)

Boy and Girl names please

Thank you all in advance

Is everyone naming their children the same names?? Don't get me wrong I think the names are beautiful... but I think in about 15 years everyone you bump into is going to be named:
BOYS:
Aiden
Brayden
Brandon
Christopher
Andrew
Ethan
Isaiah
Jordan
Peyton
Jayden
Caden/Kaden... anything that rhymes with AIDEN

GIRLS:
Emily or Emmalee/Emmaleigh
Emma
Annabella/Annabelle
Amber
Marie
Isabella/Isabelle
Brianna
Christina
Kayla
Kylee
Olivia
Riley
Victoria
Nicole
Hailey
Rose
Elizabeth
Ashley/Ashlee/Ashleigh
Madison
Anything that ends in Lynn, Lee, Leigh, Ann ???
What's up with this??

Can't think of anymore right now...

I gave my daughter teething tablets yesterday and today and just realized that they have lactose in them (she is allergic to both milk and soy products) and now she is having all kinds of painful gas. Are there different kinds of teething tablets besides Hylands?? If so do they contain lactose also??

I am a mother of five with one on the way and sometimes things can get a bit hectic at home, I am not obsessive about cleaning at all nor am I very materialistic but I am house proud and I like a tidy house. My kids are all responsible for their own rooms and they do a good job but the house always has a cluttered feel to it.
Recently my husband and I visited friends out of town for a night, and despite having seven kids under 15 they were able to entertain us in a lovely clean and comfy room a luxury I never have at home.
My friend informed us that they have what are called "kids free" zones it includes their bedroom,a large living room and other areas they decide on.The kids are not allowed in these rooms. Is this weird? The idea is nice but realistically is it unfair to exclude my 12&13 yr old from rooms in their own home?It would have to be one rule for all with no exceptions.Do any of you exercise a rule like this in your home?

Well, today me and my Son were at my Mother-in-Law's House. My Son was playing around her Christmas tree and I was watching him when all of sudden my Son grabbed a glass ornament and thru it on the floor braking it. It happened so quick that I wasn't able to prevent it even though I was watching him at the same time. My Mother-in-Law comes running and starts making a big deal telling me that I need to be a good Mother and teach my son NO. (My Son is 14 months) which I already do but it all happened so fast. She also told me that to not let him do whatever he wants in other people's homes and only in ours. I totally agree with that statement but I think she went a little overboard with insinuating that I'm not a good Mom because my Son broke one of her ornaments. She also claimed that he could have got seriously injured as well. When I offered to sweep up the mess she said No and that she's only one who can clean it right. Who's right and who's wrong?

A newborns biological father is a violent, racist, bigoted neo-nazi who spends his time going in and out of jail for a variety of crimes. He has threatened members of the mothers family to the point that they have a restraining order on him, and the mother isn't certain that he wouldn't harm or kill her. The mother and father broke up because the mother thought she was pregnant by another man.
Do you think it's ethically acceptable to lie to him about the paternity of the child, now that it is clear that he is indeed the father, in order to protect the child and the mother by keeping him out of their lives?

I'm 23 & never had kids but in the future-not now-I want some. I have my college degree. My mom doesn't want me with any, & she thinks I don't have the mentality to raise a child.

To me (i'm not sure if it's true but by what i've seen) SO many young people are having babies....personally i think a lot of them aren't ready because they haven't gotten out of there getting drunk every weekend stage. And there's so many single parent relationships these days (which isn't a bad thing, my parents divorced so my mother raised us)

Whats your opinion, and if you had a child young, did people talk down to you?? how old were you when you had your first child?
