There are a few names on your list I rarely see children with now a days. The names I rarely hear children named are Olivia , Annabelle, Lynn, Leigh, Ann, Rose, Victoria, Emma, Emily, and Elizabeth. To be honest, I am surprised when I see a child with any oF the names I posted. Most names I see are names you can't pronounce or over used names such as;
Brittany
Aaliyah
Beyonce (yes, I've seen this one)
Aiyden
Jaden
Christopher
McKenzie
and the other names I can't spell or pronounce.

I hear ya! It is aggravating. I have 3 daughters. When I was pregnant with my first daughter I wanted to name her Vivian. Her father and I had a kind war because he wanted a different name, Olivia. I liked it too so I agreed. After all, the only other Olivia that I knew of was Olivia Newton John. I thought it would be pretty original. I am very active in my daughters' schools and I have yet to run across another Olivia. But, I hear it is pretty common in other areas. When I had my second I named her Vivian. :) And my third is Alaina. My mom named all of us ... Leslie, Todd, Natalie, Addie and Sophia. They aren't heard of that often either. Have a wonderful day!

I agreed, that's why we struggled so much when we were looking for a name for our boy, after all we named him Jace Aleksander. Now I am currently pregnant with a baby girl and we are going to name her Karianne Shakira. What I like about the names we picked is that are different and not too weird, (at least not to us).
Have a good day!

I like the name Olivia Elaine if I have a girl...I don't think it is too popular. A lot of those names are used a lot though you are right. And as to why....because a lot of them are really nice names. Most people complain about names that are too unique so trendy names are catching on lately.

I think that is just the way it goes in life. Names become popular for a time. When I was a kid, everyone was named Jennifer, and names like Emma, Victoria, and Isabella were considered really old and ugly.

I think that names are just popular in certain decades....you don't get many girls named Sally, Joan, etc. nowadays. Names become "popular" just like everything else and then the cycle switches and "unpopular" names are right back in vogue.

sometimes its not intentional. when i picked out my daughters name (hannah) i really liked it and had not met another child with that name. then after i had her i saw that 4 other hannahs had been born at that hospital in the 2 months before her birth lol. and since then we've been to picnics and parties where there was another hannah there. Sometimes it just happens. lol

When I named my daughter Kyleigh there was not anyone around that had that name or one like it. Now they are everywhere and I was trying to be different than everyone else and it backfired,
