Young children learn by example. Parents who use that kind of language in front of there kids are ignorant to the affect it has and are shocked when they (the children) repeat the behavior. Have pity, they are clueless!!

Honestly no it will not make the kids rude as well. I will only call someone ignorant if they say something or do something ignorant. I'm sorry if you think that is wrong, but i am pretty sure you call ppl names too... maybe not to their face but probably behind their backs. Who doesn't say something about another person? Are their ppl out there who are so polite and so respectful that the never say anything about anyone? If you do know someone let me know.. b/c I have never met anyone who has not judged someone or called someone a name. If my child is going to call someone a name.. it won't be because they heard me say it... it will be b/c they probably believe that of that person. I will never say anything in front of my child to demean someone else, but children will learn either way... society says things about ppl all the time... tv... news.... cartoons.... shows.... and ppl they hear in the street and public places... a parent could never say anything bad about a person in front of their child but the child will learn the words an meanings from other ppl... so to say that about a parent is wrong... you will never know who taught this child this.... and yes parents can tell their children it is not nice to say bad things about ppl.... but that doesn't mean they are going to stop doing it. So you can't put the blame on parents only... it is society and other aspects also....

Children are a product of their environment. Not saying people are bad parents - we all have our moments.
But if you live in, and provide a negative atmosphere, chances are the kids are not going to be all bubbly and cheery.
I had anger issues, and had a short fuse several years ago. One day, I watched my son doing exactly what I did when he got upset. I did not like what I saw. At that moment, I knew I had to change the example that I was setting.

A child learns from their role models, and will exhibit their behaviors as well. For instance, my sister and I have a bad temper just like our father. My best friend has loud obnoxious parents who swear a lot, and she does the same. If you see a brat in the store turn to the parents, as they are most likely the cause.
If a parent is rude to others, they are not being good role models, and should not discipline their children when they do the same.

There is a big diffrence between being rude on the net and being rude in person.
On the net I can get very rude sometimes and star name calling but the thing is my child is not sitting here reading what I write.
When it comes to being with my son around someone I am never rude because unlike on the net my son is there with me and can hear what I am saying and understand it and he is going to hear me doing it and think it is okay.

What kids grow up with in their household, is what they perceive as "normal", and can carry into adulthood without even realizing it.
There is some major accountability being a parent, something hardly anyone takes seriously anymore.

i am a firm believer of what you child sees and hears they will mimic. but when the child growes up just hope that they have a chance to change their attitude before its too late. i don't agree with giving a child crap when they see it in there parents if they were good parents they would see that they are doing it and stop it themselves. they cant expect their child to stop unless they do!

when did the terms dumb, ignorant, stupid... etc become outlawed by the word police...
are you telling me that I am a bad parent because I use these words to describe people, things or situations for which there definition matches ?
are there any other words I should be aware of that are not allowed to be used in public... could you please tell me why
