Wash your hands constantly. Don't kiss the baby's face. Use Lysol. And realize that your baby may get sick anyway. Make sure and call your pediatrician if there are any symptoms at all. With a newborn, they will usually want to see them for any kind of illness, regardless of how minor. Congratulations on your little one. Good luck!

unfortunatly there is no way really ....... make sure that when you cough all ways use the antibacterial hand soap the ones with or without the use of water dont sneeze or cough around the baby no kisses just hugs if you are not carring a fever it should not be that bad babies are really tough and have a pretty good imune system because of the amount of iron that they consume every day
we as adults on the other hand get sicker than the baby when the baby give us a cold because of the lack of iron in our bodies make sure to take plenty of vitamin c to get over your cold as quick as possible ooh and disinfectent spray works really well

A can of Lysol and hand sanitizer. I recently had a cold and everything I touched I sprayed and every time I coughed, sneezed or blew my nose I used hand sanitizer.. My 15 month old never got sick and I am a stay at home mom.

well its hard but as long as you keep your face covered every time you have to cough and sneeze with a hanky itl reduce the virus spreading.
keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in your pocket ,use it as much as you can and always wash anything you touch after sneezing or coughing near it ,don't put you face near the baby and itl help alot.
good luck been a single dad Ive been one for seven years its very hard .

honestly i would think that this is impossible. Your child is going to catch this cold no matter what. Unless you move out and have no contact... and since you are a single dad... i don't see this happening. I would just try to avoid breathing directly on your child and make sure to wash your hands after each couch and every time you blow your nose. But since your child's immune system sucks right now she or he is more than likely going to catch it.

Just take normal precautions you would with anyone else, like not sneezing onto him etc. Really not much more you can do! And if little one does get a cold, at least it is building up the immune system. You'll unfortunately just have to deal with it.

Washing your hands before you feed or even pick the child up is a good start. The virus will be spread if you sneeze on your hands, then pick up the baby. Wash your hands before and after changing his/her diaper. It's easier and better if you use hand sanitizer with alcohol in it to clean your hands.
