I am 39 and a half weeks pregnant and saw the Dr. today. He checked me and said I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced. Ever since my appt. I have been bleeding and having lower back pain. Has this happened to anyone else or do you know if this is part of being in labour? Thanks!

With my second lower back pain accompanied with contractions and spotting is how I knew I was in labor.
Mom to:
8 year old boy
22 month old girl
and 32 weeks pregnant

if the pain and bleeding do not stop within the next couple of hours, or it gets worse..go back to the doctor...

IF YOU ARE BLEEDING GO BACK TO THE DR. EVEN AT THE BEGINNING STAGES OF LABOR YOU SHOULD NOT BE BLEEDING!

I happened to me and it turned out to be false labor. I would call your doctor and see what they say.
