I don't know how likely it is but I read this somewhere online, but don't take as law. I heard that female sperm are slower swimmers however they are stronger and can live longer. While on the other hand male sperms are faster but aren't as strong. The website said that if you wanted a girl that you should try a day or two before your ovulation day, that way the female sperm is already closer to the egg and stronger than the males. If you want a boy, wait until the day of or day after that way the female sperm doesn't get there as fast.

That's what I read, however I don't have anything to back that up.

sure you can, on your own you can try for a girl by having sex only during the beginning of ovulation, boys are right around the ovulation date usually. In a lab they can spin the sperm and pull out either a male sperm or a female sperm, which ever you are looking for. Or you can just plan to have a happy healthy baby no matter the sex and love him or her either way. I was kind of hoping for a girl with my first pregnancy and all the way through I couldn't feel anything either way, some women just know, I wasn't one of them. I had a beautiful baby boy who came out as healthy as could be and has been a pleasure for the last 2 years and then some. Now with ttc again we are all hoping for a girl to even out the score, and since the last girl on my hubby's side was 21 years ago. We broke a 25 year run on girls on my side with my son, he is still the only boy in his generation on my side. But if we have a second baby boy, I am not going to love him any less. I may still dress him in pink like I did Gabe, but I wouldn't love him any less.

Honestly, preplanning is a hassle, it takes away from the surprise at delivery and just seems soo unatural. It almost feels like going to the store and picking out a blue eyed blonde baby, or for that matter a green eyed brunette and so on off of a shelf. Have sex, have fun and just love what you get.

The Chinese gender chart is just for entertainment purposes. It is not for actual reliable purposes. According to it I was supposed to be a boy, and my son was supposed to be a girl. My friends daughter was supposed to be a boy and another friends twin boys were supposed to be girls, so far no one I know has had an accurate result from it. Also if you read right at the bottom of the chart it does say for entertainment purposes only.

Yes. If you pay the additional costs, there are doctors and clinics out there who will take a sperm donation from your partner and separate the sperm with an x chromosome from a y chromosome. Again, this is a separate cost and involves visiting those doctors who specialize in this.

There are old wives tales which say that if you have sex a certain way you can ensure one sex or the other but they aren't really true.

Best of luck.

I've heard having sex 3 days before ovulation will make you carry a girl and during or after will cause a boy. They say sperm carrying female dna is much slower and survives longer, male is faster but dies quickly. Female dna sperm can last 3 days so that's why they say before ovulation giving it the best chance to reach the egg. I am not sure if it's true.

There are old wives tales that say if you have sex in a certain position or eat certain things it can help with the gender of the baby. Again they are old wives tales, so I wouldn't bet on them.
But if you want to know you can google it and put gender persuasion or old wives tale gender predictions.

there are supposedly positions and natural things you can do to influence the sex of your baby. talk to you doctor. i've had 2 girls and mine had told me if i decided to have one more to go for a boy that there were books and things to help. its worth a shot if you can't afford the invitro stuff.

No you'll just have to wait until 20 weeks where you can get an ultrasound and then you can see what your having.
