I asked a question about parents being a successful. I got a lot of great answers. I wonder what other's believe "failure" is in parenting.

We all know the obvious--not loving, not caring, not financially providing, and/or abusive but what do you feel (other then the above) that classifies a parent as a failure?

I am always open and honest with my son. My husband, my self and my son's dad always keep lines of communication open. I never expected that he would come to me when he was ready for sex, since I am his mom, but i definetly thought that he would be comfortablediscussing it with his dad or step dad. I am so dissapointed. I am awlays spending time with my children and my son is really a god teen. No drugs, no hanging out in the streets, no gangs, etc. I was aware that many girls liked him becuase he speaks with me about the different friendships that he had. I found out that he had sex becuase my sister in law overheard one of his conversations with my nephew. When I approached him he was honest and said yes he did it and he was afraid to tell me. It happened at her house one day after a 1/2 day of school. Her parents were at work and the rest is history. I dont want to encourage it but I dont want him dead from a STD or getting some one pregnant. He says he wont do it again? HELP!

The other morning I was home from school and thought no one was home, I was in the basement watching tv and was watching one of my moms exercise videos and was just wearing only my tee shirt and ... well when i looked up my mom was standing on the stairs watching me, I have no idea how long she had been there, I hurried and covered up and went to my room and she says she wants to talk, I am really afraid to talk to her , I have lived alone with my mom for ten years since my dad left, what should we say to each other? She works at a bar and is allways coming home real late so I have not really seen her , what will she say!

My son is just under 17 months. Over the last 5 months, his vocabulary has exploded. He knows so many words I lost count after 50. He speaks clearly and pronounces words almost perfectly. He can actually form small sentences on his own! For example, he likes to count objects, so he'll ask "How many stars?" He knows 10 shapes, numbers 1-10 and almost all of the alphabet. He knows the difference between things like a square and a rectangle or a circle and the letter O. You can draw something and he'll tell you what it is. He's learning at such a fast pace that I'm afraid he's going to be bored when he gets into kindergarten! I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I can't believe how well he communicates and I want to make sure he is in the right environment. Is any one else experiencing this? Should I get him tested? If so, how?

We named our three month old Kaiser because its a cool name and it means leader. Everyone has aways liked his name and the only joke we hear is "pass the kaiser roll"
anyways at thanksgiving dinner there was an old lady who when I told her his name she hailed him as in hail hitler. It made me super mad. But her payback was that he started crying everytime she got in his face.
I wore my son the whole night because he likes to see whats going on and also there was no place to safely set him down at our family members house, and it would keep him from crying at all. Towards the end of the night the old lady said "You HAVE to carry him around like that just put him down, he will be fine," like I shouldnt enjoy carrying him. As long as you get a comfy carrier like a moby wrap,it is quite fun.
Anyways do you think of hitler when you hear Kaiser or is the old lady crazy.

There is someone that I know and admire who is having trouble conceiving and wants a baby really badly. How can I let her know that I really admire her bravery and thatI look up to her in her difficulties without being overbearing or overdramatic? I'm a teen, she's not family or a friend of the family, and she's only about 10 years older than I am. She seems to want to talk about it, it's not like she clams up, but I'm afraid of crossing the line in terms of the relationship. I just want to tell her that although I'm younger, I'm there for her.

I'm supposed to have my period today. It's normally regular. I had sex about 2 weeks ago without a condom on for about a minute and then we stopped because we both are mature enough to know that we should use a condom, so we stopped, went and got condoms and had sex. I noticed that after sex, there was a small rip in the back of the condom. I didn't see anything [c u m] near it. I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant, but I get worried. My period should start today.... !!!!

I have mild cramps right now, but I'm not sure if I'm not just having a stomach ache after eating a lot over the holiday.

Please help, my parents would completely freak if I became pregnant. --Oh and Since this issue, my boyfriend and I have decided not to have sex anymore in order to free ourselves from this stress! :)

My name is Aaron Hughes, and I am in search of Christine Marie King. She is believed to be in West Jordan, Utah (or the surrounding areas). She is 37 years old, I think. Her parents names are Delores and Roy King, but I believe Roy has passed years ago. I also think that she has a few other kids. I have been on the search for her for a few years now, and have had no luck. If anyone may have any information leading to the whereabouts of her, please let me know. If anyone may obtain any information at all, that would be very helpful. THANK YOU

I know people have to work. i'm a working mom but luckily my mother in law is able to watch my girls while I'm at work. If a woman doesn't need to work or is a stay at home mom, what is the point? I have heard excuses about kids needing to socialize but aren't there other ways? My kids go to sunday school and play with other kids; I have friends with children their ages, we have went to mommy and me type things at the local library. I don't get it and probably never will. What are your opinions or reasons?

All of my sister's daughters have middle names that are flowers. She is pregnant with another little girl and her heart is set on naming her Alianne (pronouced Ali-anne). So she needs another flower name that would go well with it. Last name Martin, and Lily and Rose are already taken.
