Lots of consistency, effort, patience, understanding, respect, and of course unconditional love,

Consistency. I feel that makes a child behave well. I cannot stress consistency enough because it's so important. Parenting is not about convenience--it's about doing what you have to do whether you want to, have time to, feel like it, or not.

Effort. As with any job--being a parent is an ongoing process. You can't just stop when it get tough. In order to be the best you can be you have to constantly work to be better. I'm the type of person that doesn't settle for "okay" or "satisfactory" when it comes to anything I do. I always know there is room for improvement no matter how happy, healthy, or great your kids may be.

Patience. Kids are hard to handle at times. A good head on your shoulders and a lot of patience can get anyone through a day. To be impatient or quick to lose your temper is a bad thing--not only does it make things unstable--it's just not healthy.

Understanding. There are things my kids do that I just wonder "Why in the world would they do something like that?"--I'm sure it'll get worse the older they get. I often have to step out of my box and realize that there is normally an explanation--whether it's right or wrong I have to at least try to understand.

Respect. This means respect for the kids, yourself, and everyone else. This is such an important lesson for kids to learn. I feel if they see their parent showing respect--they will be respectful.

Unconditional Love. It speaks for itself. It's important for kids to understand and know you will always be there.

So many factors in being a great mom--I'm a great mom. I think that and that's all that matters. Just because I'm confident doesn't mean I don't try to do better--be better. It's important to have confidence and realize what is really important--the above is what I feel makes a great mom.

It takes you putting your child's needs first. As long as you are doing that then you are a great mom.

Love

If you spend your time trying to do what is best for your child, you will be a great mother.
YOu don't have to suceed at cooking and art and win awards and what nots
All you need to do is love your child, and each day show that love, and to try to do what is best for said child each and every day

love, commitment, understanding, common sence, maturity, empathy, you need good ears, a comphy lap and warm arms to wrap around your kids, there are so many other things that make a good mum, but I think these are some of the most important.
