I have ten days left before my due date and my doctor checked my cervix today and said that I was "maybe" a fingertip dilated. Does this mean that I probably wont go into labor naturally and that I will have to be induced?

I'm due December 21st, 2006 and I'm having a boy!! :) We had decided on the name Vincent Tyler Reese, but now we aren't sure on the middle name...

Any suggestions?

Vincent ________ Reese

(Nothing that starts with "C" please, because that would make his initials "VCR", haha!)

♥ Thank you! ♥

How do you punish your kids for stealing cookies?

I don't want to go into too much details, but let's just say that I've made it *very* clear that my kids are not to get cookies out of the jar without permission. I was so sure that they would obey, I decided the jar would be the best place to hide my gun. There were at least 5 in the clip and one in the chamber when I put it in there, and now there are only 3 in the clip and none in the chamber.

I know they've been taking cookies, so how can i punish them.

I never rocked her or sang lullabies or anything. I just hold her, and when I can tell she's dozing off, I put her in her crib, kiss her good night, and leave the room. She doesn't cry, though.
Also, if she wakes up in the middle of the night, I go and comfort her, give her the pacifier, and in a couple of minutes she's asleep again.
Do you think I am being mean, or not caring enough, because I don't rock her or do otherwise?

No mean answers, please, I'm new at this.
Thank you!

My oldest child is 2 years and 7 months and is not potty trained. She has gone to the potty and done #1 and #2.... but she does not understand that she needs to tell me before she needs to go. I ask her often and sometimes she will go, sometimes she won't... my mother told me it was disgusting to put panties on her and let her go in them but with the pull ups, she still thinks she's in diapers... also, at night she won't go to bed without a sippy cup. That's automatic accident. Help! Is she just still growing and need more time?

My wife is in a mom's group and one of the other mom's asked for someone to watch their just turned 3 year old on the day of their scheduled c-section. Since no one had responded yet my wife agreed to even though we have a set of 2 year olds. The grandparents dropped her of at 8:00 am because the c-section was scheduled at 10:30. When I got home at 5:00, I was surprised to see her still there and my wife said no one had called. Finally at 5:30 the dad called and was going to go home and shower before he picked up his daughter!
When our twins were born (also a c-section) I was away from my son for only 4 hours and he stayed with my parents.
We felt these people were very strange. Are we right?

My son is turning a year old and this is my first child. I know it's too soon to put him in a twin bed, but I'm curious to know what is age appropriate for a toddler.

My mom is going to be 50 next month, I am married and almost 26. My wife and I are trying to have our first baby and my mom has mentioned that she is too young to be someone's grandma.

She says that she doesn't feel like she has the time to be a grandma because she likes to hang out with her friends. Now she has a new boyfriend so we rarely see her.

I don't want her to take care of my baby, I just was hoping she would be a grandma to my kid since my dad is dead. (My parents were divorced)

I am her only child so my kid will be her only grandchild. I know I can't force her to be a grandma if she doesn't want to be one, but what do I do?

Can't she live her life AND be a grandma? I don't need her help with my family, I just wanted her to be somewhat involved. Maybe visit the baby a few times a month?

She doesn't say this because she is concerned about me: she wasn't into being a mom when I was a kid because she spent a lot of time with boyfriends.

What do you think?
