Pregnancy & Parenting - 6 November 2006

I'm a pregnant Mom - my baby boy will be almost 2 yrs old when this one is born. I'm really worried about handling the 2 of them - I am pretty much alone on this one - I have no help - maybe I'll get a few frozen meals or something, but that's about it. Help! I am also worried about finances - since I quit work to stay at home - I dont see how we can handle another one! ( I was on the pill with both!! No more pill for me!)

I really wanted to be pregnant and it came up postive straight away, I haven't had any periods and I have been feeling sick although that stopped a couple of weeks ago.
I just don't feel like its real I keep getting this horrible feeling that I'm going to go to the midwives on saturday and shes going to say I'm not pregnant. Why am I feeling like its not real

how long after you stop taking the pill does it take 2 become preggers, i came off the pill about a mth ago, i am due on around the 15th of this month, but i am starting to feel emotional and feel like im gonna come on could this be a sign of my period due to start or am i preggers. Im guessing the symptoms i get b4 a period now will be different to what i got while on the pill. Am i rite im thinking my hormones will be different now im off the pill? Im not totally dumb just a little confused!!

My 8yr old was attacked and bitten several times by a wolf dog on 9/5/06. She spent an evening in the hospital. She seems ok for the most part but she is lacking alot of the confidence that I have tried to build in her and her self esxteem is not what it used to be. I know she will have problems for a while, I just dont know how to help her with them..I still tell her everyday that she is beautiful and that I love her more than anything else.. and that she is smart.. She just is not the same.. she cries for no reason at all for hours, can't sleep well either........any suggestions on how to help her cope?

my 13weeks old baby girl doesn't like her swing, she fusses most of the times. I guess she is teething, because she is drooling alot and her fingers are in her mouth all the time. At night she goes to sleep around 7:30-8 and wakes up around 1am, then she wakes up every 2 hours, is this normal? any suggestions?

He got a a go cart last year.
He says he dosen't know what he wants.
He likes the sea monkeys I got him last year.
I gave him a telescope one year, but he never uses it.

I breastfeed my son 2 years ago and I am an advocate of it. But I am pregnant with my daughter and I am on a medication that could transfer to breastmilk (it is safe during pregnancy).
I feel so guilty and worried about this.... why? And what will happen to my breasts the day I deliver? WIll it be painful. Please tell me as much as you know about all this. Thanks!!

I am 20 lbs heavier than I usually am, but I am not overweight for my height. I wanted to lose the weight before getting pregnant, but my husband and I decided to eat healthy and try to conceive anyways.

I am going to gain whatever my doctor says I need to gain (probably 25-30 lbs), but I am scared it will be so hard to lose the weight after having my baby.

I want to breastfeed and this will be my first baby. I am also athletic and in my mid 20's.

Does anyone have any advice?

My cousion had discovered that is pregnant with her boyfriend of about 1 month,(she was on the pill) she isn't sure if it's his or somone elses, she has already got another child to another man, her boyfriend at the min has told her that he will stand by her whatever she decides, but she doesn't think that he will.

I spoke to her a little while ago and she is going to have an abortion she is going to the doctors tomorrow, to see if she can take a tablet as she want to get it over with asap as she feels really bad but i'm a little concerned about the fact she doesn't know how far gone she is, would the doctor give her the tablet if she was unsure? i know that after a certain point during pregnancy you will have to have an abortion in hospital, i'm also worried what would happen to her if she took the tablet to abort and she was too far gone to do this and also what will happen if she takes the tablet like will it make her ill as she intends to go back to work after. ok so I went to the doctors on Nov 1, 2006 and had a preg test done, and they read it 5 minutes later and it said "negative" then they accidently kept it out for an hour later and it showed positive. So today I went for blood work...any opinions on if i am or not because honestly i really dont know at this point. all the home preg tests said negative...but at the doctors they say something else...

Seems like there's been this explosion of educational toys and videos out for children in the past few years. LeapFrog, Baby Einstein, and many many more.

I've just been thinking though. Back when our parents and grandparents were young, their parents taught them everything. Every single thing they learned was something they learned from their parents. Does anyone else think it's a bit sad that it went from parents teaching kids everything, to parents popping in a Baby Einstein video and saying "Look how smart they are!"

I mean, yes they're getting smarter from these toys and don't get me wrong because it's wonderful. But it seems a bit sad that the only credit parents have in that is going out and getting the toy from walmart or popping in the dvd. What do you think?

My son will turn 10 years old on December the 7th. I've decided to do something smaller (then the usual Birthday party) this year. I am going to let him pick just 1 or 2 friends and take them all to a place called Play World (much like chuck-e-cheese). My question is, should I provide the quarters for the games for the other children or should their moms/dads be asked to send the money. Also, can anyone throw in some ideas to make the day a little more fun. Examples: Cake or pizza or both? Good ideas for popular gifts for a 10 year old boy? How long should the party last? Should I invite my mother, grandmother, ect., or just take myself and the kids. Also, any awsome ideas for a great grand finale? Any good ideas would be appreciated!
