there are lots of side effects for giving birth that early, my son was born at 30 weeks and was in the NICU for almost three months we weren't sure if he was going to make it or not, its scary to have your baby early typically they will let you go into labor around 36 or 37 weeks though, although its best to wait (if you can) until 40 weeks. its not usually someones fault if they deliver early mine was due to an incompetent cervix, many other factors can cause early labor, you can look it up or talk to your doctor about it.

Anytime over thirty seven weeks some say. I was only twenty eight weeks when I had my son seventeen years ago. He was only two pounds, two ounces at birth. He had severe jaundice requiring a blood transfusion, a perforated bowel (required a temporary illeostomy for ten months) and a collapsed lung (stress from surgery). We brought him home after sixty eight days in the neonatal care ( a miracle). He had a brain scan to make sure there was no pressure or tumors, eye specialist to make sure there was no complications and other tests later on.
To date he is a healthy teenager ready to graduate with no lasting side effects but he was one of the lucky ones (my nephew was born at 24 weeks and has more serious problems like Cerebral Palsy and many more).
Technology has come a long way (for saving preemie babies ) but I really wonder if they have gone too far. It worked for my situation but I feel for the parents who weren't so lucky.

its better to have your baby after having completed 8 months..that time you can be sure everything within your lill baby has developed...

In the 6th month the baby is a premature and extra care has to be taken and the baby has to be kept in the hosipital for specially care and its very risky also..

In the 7th month however the baby's lungs start to develop so there are more chances of losing a baby when in the 7th month as the lungs are not yet well inflated to the most...and therefore may not be able to survive.

My daughter was born at 26 weeks. She was on a ventilator for 2 months and in the NICU for 3. She had brain bleeding and a collapsed lung. She went home on oxygen and its been a long road, but she is now 5 and doing well. Lots of babies are not so lucky. Cerebral Palsy is very common in preemies, also.

My husband was born at the 6 month mark -- he was under 4 pounds! He barely survived... the fact that he lived at all is really impressive, esp. considering this was 30 years ago! He had to stay in the hospital for many months after that.

Even now he feels cold all the time and just wants to hug constantly... we suspect it might be because he was a preemie and felt such a strong need for snugglies. :)

you need to go at least 27 weeks fo the baby to even really be able to survive even on all the monitors and breathing devices used. any earlier than that and the baby is usually almost always just a brain dead or vegtable... and even at 27 weeks, they have much greater risk in life for being handicap, slow, not growing right or well, and being sick constantly in life.
