If it were me, I'd want to be married first. There's a sense of security and permanence that comes with marriage.

I'd say that if you both were truly committed to a lifetime together, you'd get married first. It sounds like one of you or both of you isn't quite sure, hence the "long engagement."

I've read and heard that having an infant, although wonderful, is very challenging and strains even the best of relationships. it makes staying together harder.

Given how hard it is to be a single Mother or single parent, and how hard it is on the little one, I would wait until your marriage was rock solid. Also, it is advisable to wait until you have the legal protections of marriage before having a baby with someone.

Nowadays dear it is not that uncommon. I am pregnant and not yet married. We plan on getting married in the coming months before the baby comes. I do beleive the parents should be married when the baby is born but again, it is not umcommon these days.

if both of you are seriously thinking of getting married. Your future plans are also included in your preparation for your future and one of them is how many children to have.. If you cannot wait till the wedding date use a condom first to be safe. He might change his mind. However there are some men who are first testing if they can become fathers before rushing to be ceremony. Then if proven it will become a short engagement Good Luck !

I always wanted to be married first but my boyfriend and I have been together alittle over 2 years and we will have been together 2 1/2 when our daughter is born. I think it is wonderful but you really have to be secure in your relationship because sometimes we both have our doubts. I think it really all depends on the type of people you are.

I say go for it, why i wanted to be married first before i have a child, but why should i have to wait for a man to decide if he wants to marry me . There is no security with a man even if u are married with a child or not, the security is in the court system, to get him to pay if he doesnt want to.

Most times the pregnancy is an accident. I have 2 kids and have never been married, and for right now, don't plan to be married. I am with the father of my kids, but we don't have any plans to get married.

There is nothing wrong with it. As long as you and your fiance are okay with it, who cares what anyone else thinks. Live your life how you wish to do so.
