Are you already pregnant? If so, then he really doesn't have a choice in the matter--tell him to grow up and get over it.

If you're not already pregnant, definitely don't get pregnant! If a man is not a man enough to commit to a long-term marriage, then he isn't man enough to commit to being a father.

Get married first, then have this discussion!

Don't have an child, if you aren't married. Because you'll get pregnant, have the baby, have struggles that are meant for couples to get through together, one of you will have enough and leave. Leaving you and the baby alone with no daddy. That's not fair to the child. Yes, this is an extreme case, but just look around you ... you see it everywhere.

So, make sure this guy is "the one", if he is, you'll know it. Then get married and have kids. If he's not ... then it's time you start thinking seriously about your future (with or without him) while you still can.

Dont know how old you guys are or what your relationship is like but I would say that he is scared. He may have spoke without thinking it through or once he said it out loud it became more real to him that alot of things could change if it did happen. If you guys are young then give it time, make sure you guys as a couple are stable. I would love to preach being married first but I know that just doesnt always happen. So all I can say is keep an open comunication with him about it and def. dont pressure him!!!!!

If he's totally sure, then he'll remain totally sure about it for a long time. Wait and see if he still feels the same way about a baby -- and you -- without wavering over the long term.

And how do you feel about having a baby? About having a baby w/o being married?

Or are you already pregnant?

The people who said If you're pregnant its too late and if your not make sure you don't get pregnant are right. I have a feeling you are very young. Best to wait if you aren't already. You should get married first - if your boyfriend won't commit to you what makes you think he'll commit to a baby? Having a babay is a LIFE LONG commitment. You won't change his mind and you can't change HIM.

Good luck.

FIRST OF ALL IF HE HASNT MARRIED YOU THERE IS NO REAL COMMITMENT.I KNOW THEY ALWAYS SAY THEY ARE BUT TAKE IT FROM ME AND MANY YEARS OF LEARNING THERE IS A REASON WHY YOU ARNT GETTING MARRIED.THERE IS SO MANY CHILDREN IN THIS WORLD WITH JUST ONE PARENT,DONT TAKE ANY CHANCES.DO NOT DO THIS,IF HES NOT SURE ASK YOUR SELF WHY.COMMITMENT DOESN'T COME EASILY BY THE SOUNDS OF IT.YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY,IF YOU QUESTION WHAT YOUR THINKING ABOUT ,DONT DO IT.NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU WANT IT.IVE SEEN IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME FOR CHILDREN.

DO NOT, DO NOT force the issue. There is nothing worse than an unwilling father. Not just for you, but for the baby.

i really would not even address the issue unless you guys are married or engaged.... there is nothing worse than a man who is gunna knock you up, and split... it happens ALL THE TIME to women who say IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME. its not fair to a child to live a crappy life.... so change his mind by first getting married....
