Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 October 2006

My son is going to be a year old on November 6. I think he is ready to be taken off the bottle. Plus, I would like him to be. He is fascinated by us drinking from a cup and sometimes does with our assistance. However, when he is offered a sippy cup, even with the stoppers out, he refuses it and gets plain mad. Can someone give me any pointers and maybe a time frame of how long the transition may take for the average child? It is getting frustrating.

Ok, i have a problem that i need help with. My Husband and I have been together for 3 years. We also have a daughter and she is 10 months. Recently we have been talkin about having another baby,but he wants to wait.which is ok but when we have sex he pulls out. Now iv'e heard that you can get pregnant if a guy pulls out. He doesn't want to use condoms...I mean if he doesnt want to have another baby now, then why is he pulling out.
Does this make sense to you??

I think parents and kids should be able to have fun together, and I don't think being in the bong does any permanent harm to the goldfish, it just makes them swim really funny for a while.

I just had a baby 6 weeks ago, I went to my 6 week check up 2 days ago and the doctor said I shouln't start my period for another 2-3 weeks. I started this morning. Is this ok??

Hi my name is Brittany and im a little confused. At first my doctor told me I was due on 11-28-06 which was calculated from my last menstral period which was on feb 21-27, and now they changed my due date to 11-13-06 because the baby is measuring bigger. Is it just a big baby or they miss calculated something???? well if I am due on 11-13-06 can u please tell me an approximate day i had sex and got pregnant??????

My just-over-three year old boy is as stubborn as they come. We've been trying to introduce potty training but he is not having any of it. I'm convinced he knows what to do, but he simply doesn't want to. So far, he has given up eating chocolate and watching Thomas since these are rewards for using the toilet. These are his favorite things, but he would rather go without than use the toilet. Any suggestions? I've tried underwear (not long term, but here and there) which if he wets, he finds uncomfortable, but still to no avail. He is just so dang stubborn that I don't want it to turn into a battle of wills, but I really would like to get past diapers with him!!!

I was messing around with my g/f and got some pre-seamen/seamen on my right hand. I washed both of my hands with soap and water and later fingered her with my left hand. 5 days later she had mild cramping and some bleeding it was to early for her period. Now she should have got her period yesterday but didnt and she said that she still has a little of bleeding. Could it be impalnational bleeding? please help me i am worried.

I recently got off birth control because i lost my insurance, and I haven't gotten my period in almost 2 months. could it be because of the bc, or is there any other reason for my missed period besides being pregnant, becuse I'm starting to get scrared because i'm only 19 and definatly not ready for a child. please help!!!!!

If a dead beat father moves and you don't konw his new address, how do you go about finding out his residence? I don't even know the name of the town. This is not pertaining to me but my sister!! My sister is pregnant at the same time as me and its okay I guess but she and I are not close becuase she runs with a bad crowd. She called me crying today wanting to know an answer to something that I seriously did not know the answer to- so I need your help. She wanted to know if they drug test every mother and newborn automatically...She has smoked pot about one week ago, and I hate asking this b/c I am embarrassed to call her family but I had no other way of trying to find out for her. I have not had a period since August 8th 2006. I have been ttc for a little over a year now. No such luck. Around September 8th I had a little pink spotting but my period never came. I had some blood tests for FSH and my LH levels. My tests just came back, but I didn't have time to wait for an interpretation with the doctor-and they won't tell me what the results mean. I am trying to find out if my levels are normal, and what they mean. I am not having any luck on the internet. The FSH is 1.9 MIU/ML and my LH was 1.2 MIU/ML Please help me... also I was having some light bleeding today. I dunno if it's af. But, all fo my urine preg tests have came up negative... Today it seems as if my period is coming which makes this cycle a 65 day cycle. I know that it is not that likely that I am ovulating or able to conceive with cycles this long. The doctor ruled out PCOS for now b/c I didn't have any cysts showing with the u/s. I was given a option of b/c-and that will prevent conception... Help!

I'm sorry I told myself I'd never ask a "am a pregnant" question...but here it goes.

I've been on the pill for almost 3 months bc I had a still birth and I DID NOT want to get pregnant again. But recently I've noticed that I've been throwing up milk almost immediately after drinking it (I know that sounds crazy, but every time I've been pregnant, milk makes me throw up...it's almost like an indicator that I am now.)
I took a pregnancy test last night and I waited a few minutes and there was only one line. So I threw it away and went to bed.

Well, this morning I picked it out of the trash (gross...I know) just to make sure and there was a faint second line. My question is, did I not wait long enough the first time or was the test invalid when I looked at it this morning. I don't think the second line would show up at all if the hormone that it detects wasn't in my system, right?

What do you think? I've already stopped taking BC cause I'm afraid it will hurt.

I have a 22-month old daughter who I read to and talk to all the time. She listens very well and follows through when I tell her to do something, like "pick up your toys and put them in the toy box", but she doesn't talk much. She can say a few things like "Here you go" and "Thank You", but not much more. I'm constantly pointing to things around the house and stating what they are in hopes that she'll repeat it, but she doesn't - she just points also. What games and activities can I do with her to get her to talk more?

this past saturday i noticed a small amount of clear somewhat stretchy discharge when i wiped. well wednsday i had the same thing but i also had a clear, stretchy, jelly like discharge am i ovulating? or is that just discharge thats leading up to my ovulation? i usually get that egg white like discharge when i ovulate and its usually a larger amount than what i am getting now.
my period is going to be a little messed up this month because i was on the mini pill progesterone only, bc pill. so i am just trying to figure out when i am ovulating.

Ok I started metformin 9-5-06 my period was due on 9-20-06 like in Aug. no show but it came on 10-06-06 -10-11-06 and was normal and I thought I was preg but hey what to think now doc said metformin did not stop the period but something made me skip.

It's been about 3 months since I've gotten my period. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it came out negative. What's going on? I was on birth control for 9 years...I have used condoms and spermiside but they irritate me badly...So I took Birth Control (no condom , no spermiside) everyday at 8pm never miss a pill...When I desided to have a baby I stopped taken the birth control and 9 months after I stopped taken the birth control I got pregnant...now that my daughter is here Ive been taking the Birth Control again same time 8pm every day for 6 months now and never miss a pill cause I set the alarm on my cell to remind me....My doctor said she hasnt had a patient get pregnant off birth control if used correctly....I am a little scared cause everyone around me says that once you have a baby your system is all open and you can easly get pregnant again even if on pill...and I am not ready for another baby...can you get pregnant off the pill if used correctly everyday. and when do you ovalate.
