No worries.....I had pretty much the same thing happen. My regular periods were back not too long after I gave birth. Actually, probably the same amount of time as you. I asked my doctor about it, and she said for some women it is very natural. ( I trust her, she's had 5 Kids!!! She knows!!) So more than likely it is the same with you. Don't worry about it!!!
** However, if the flow becomes EXTREMELY heavy and last too long, go see a doctor, just to be sure that it IS your period. But I think you will be fine.

Stephenie,
Every women's body goes thru pregnancy differently. If you had no other complications with your cycles before the baby and were always regular, I would think you will be fine. Call the doctor and ask them to make a note on your charts and have the doctor or his assistant call you back. Keep track of your temperature make sure you are not running a fever (that would be a sign of an infection) in fact the doctor might give you antibiotics to be safe. And also keep track of your flow (when you get up-mid day etc.) so you can report to the doctor when they call you back. Congratulations on your new baby, don't get scared, just follow up on it to stay safe.

That's inane advice for your doctor to be giving. Every woman is different!!! I breastfed all my kids and didn't start having periods again until they were almost a year old. If you're not breastfeeding you'll start earlier, but no one, not even your doctor, can tell you when YOUR body will be ready to start again. And with your next child you might find you have a totally different experience anyway.

Yes, this is ok. Everyone is different. No one can pin point these sort of things. Look at it the positive way, your body is going back to normal. Besides it's getting rid of the bad stuff. Congrats on your new baby!

Yes, most likely it is okay. Observe your regularity and condition of your menstrual period for a few cycles. If, after then, you believe that something is out of phase, get your doctor to check
it out.

But for today, with normal flow, dont worry about it.

Everyone starts at different rates. I started 7 weeks after I had my son. I wouldn't worry about it. For peace of mind, contact your doctor.

When did your lochia stop? Have you increase activity lately? If lochia only stopped recently and you increased activity, it could be that you are overdoing it. Are you breastfeeding? It would be rare for a nursing mom to get her period so quickly.

should be fine, everyone is different--just be careful not to get pregnant again right away as you are probably fertile again in the next two weeks
