I'm sorry I told myself I'd never ask a "am a pregnant" question...but here it goes.

I've been on the pill for almost 3 months bc I had a still birth and I DID NOT want to get pregnant again. But recently I've noticed that I've been throwing up milk almost immediately after drinking it (I know that sounds crazy, but every time I've been pregnant, milk makes me throw up...it's almost like an indicator that I am now.)
I took a pregnancy test last night and I waited a few minutes and there was only one line. So I threw it away and went to bed.

Well, this morning I picked it out of the trash (gross...I know) just to make sure and there was a faint second line. My question is, did I not wait long enough the first time or was the test invalid when I looked at it this morning. I don't think the second line would show up at all if the hormone that it detects wasn't in my system, right?

What do you think? I've already stopped taking BC cause I'm afraid it will hurt.

I would take another test. Was the second line, when you went back to check, coloured? A lot of test after left for a while will have an evaporation line. This is where a line would show up if you were in fact pregnant. Both lines should be coloured... most are either pink or blue. Regardless though, at that point when you double checked the test was beyond being accurate. Retest to be sure.

There is an expiration time on the pregnancy test. If you read the instructions again it will tell you how long your results are good for. Some say 20 minutes, some say half an hour, some even longer... But on no pregnancy test will it tell you that the result is still true after 12 or more hours.

A good pregnancy test will tell you within two minutes at most of waiting. A positive is a positive. And a negative? Well, sometimes it happens that you get a false negative.

If you're really concerned about it, take another test... and this time don't bother picking it out of the trash in the morning -- you're worrying yourself over nothing.

Throwing up can be one of the symptoms of pregnancy but it isn't a way to diagnose it.

Unfortunately pregnancy tests must be read within the time frame allotted in the instructions or the results are inaccurate and the test must be repeated.

It's not possible to tell without an accurate pregnancy test. Maybe the best thing would be to call the doctor to have him/her order a blood test. That way you can find out:
1. if you are indeed pregnant and
2. what a good form of back up birth control is since the pill cycle has been interrupted.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a still birth, it is incredibly painful to lose a baby. Good luck.

Your most accurate window of time is ten minutes or less to read a test. What you saw could have been a second line or an evaporation line, test again using your first morning pee and wait this time! Good luck to you and I'm terribly sorry for your loss, I understand how difficult it is to go on after an experience like that.

The best time to take the test is in the morning where your hormones are really kicked in but dont forget after your partner cums in you it takes 5 to 6 days to process through your body and the baby will be formed with a last menstrual period. The best way to find out is to go to the clinique.

I think that you need to do 1 of 2 things just to ease your mind! You either need to buy another test to do at home, or even better-go to the Dr. In the directions of a prgnancy test it states that the results need to be read after so long. And, after that, a response may not be quite so accurate. The longer the test sits around the less accurate it may become...

The test is no good after i believe 2 hours. It will automatically go to 2 lines if you leave it overnight. I have done it. Maybe you tested to early take another one to make sure.

Take another test and buy a digital one. Then you don't have to look for lines. You get a clear pregnant or not pregnant reading. Good luck.

after 10 minuts you are not suppost to look at the test. But if you are concerened still then wait a few days and use first morning urine. Retake that test. Be sure, do not stress yourself out.
