If you have a 28 days cycle you will have (if it's reguarly) an ovulation at around day 12 to 14. If your last period had been on Feb. 21 (it's always the first day of bleeding and not for how long it lasts) your ovulation had been at around March 5 to 7 (approx.) and you also had sex around these days. The egg a woman releases is normally able to get fertilized for only 12 to 24 hours. Male sperm is able to stay alive in the uterus and tubes up until around 3 days. So, if you had sex up to 3 days before your ovulation you may get pregnant. If you have sex 24 hours after the ovulation it won't work any more.
But who really knows exactly when the ovulation happens?
The doc calculates the "breeding" of a human baby starting with the first day of the mother's period which was Feb. 21st in your case. Then he adds 7 days, makes 28th. Then he adds 9 months which makes exactly 28th November. So he was absolutely right.
But most woman don't have regular periods and so it varies from woman to woman and from child to child she is expecting. Just about 4% of all babies will be delivered exactly on the day the doc has calculated, most will come along within 10 days before or after the day which had been calculated. And just a few are delivered later or earlier than 10 days.
Anyway, even if your baby comes along earlier on Nov.13th it's still quite "punctual".
Good luck.

It is a subject creating confusions. Not your fault. I am trying to supply some crud facts and hope this Will do.
1. expected date is calculated by lmp+7 days+9 months, so Ur expected date i.e.EDD was 11-28-06(02-21+7 days+9 months). It comes with a 2 week's error i.e. +/- 2 weeks.
2. size of the baby assessed manually or measured by ultrasound does not have any role in calculation, they help when u just forgot Ur LMP.
3. Premature and post mature births are not uncommon.
4. Single quietus pregnancy is assumed to be terminated after 270 days.
5.Assuming that u delivered in right time u can back calculate the the date of pregnancy.

Why do pregnant women come on here asking questions they should be asking their doctor? Let's just say you're due between 11-13 and 11-28. As far as the approximate day you had sex, why don't you think back to 8 months ago?

You are most likely conceived on February 13, 2006. My due date is November 14, 2006 and I was conceived on February 14, 2006. I'm currently in a similar situation as you are. My doctor said I'm measuring too big for 35 weeks, so I'm going in for another ultrasound to check the weight of the baby today. However, my doctor did not change my due date like yours did. Due dates are usually not exact. It's determined by what date you started to have your period. Therefore, the doctor's calculations are based upon what you said to him/her.

Gaging from the 2 dates you gave I would say between 2-14 and 3-1.. You really cant get an appx. date unless you go from your menstral cycle and ovulation days. If your period was the 21st then you would have ovulated around the end of Febuary beginning of March. I would talk to your doctor about your concern on the date. They can be off sometimes by 2 weeks.

at first when u go to the dr they go by the menstration dated but as time goes on during the pregnancy they measure the baby.. so more than likely that they are measuring the size of the baby..

try this link to calculate ur due date:

It would be February 5th was your L.M.P. and your conception was from that day to the 20th. Other than that dont worry your body knows when it conceived and you are in charge of the pregnancy you know when its time to have the baby they give you dates from you LMP just to go by dates your baby controls the labor not dates.

Often you cannot tell. Maybe the baby is just big, but maybe you were pregnant later than you first thought. If you don't know the father of your child you will have to have blood tests performed after the birth.
