When you give birth? I'm wondering if I'm still going to look pregnant when I leave the hospital and how long it will take to start looking like the old me again!

I live in South Carolina.I have to go to a wedding that is a 2 hour drive away. I will be coming back that evening. Problem is I don't know what to pay the babysitter. I should be gone about 7 hours at the most. My kids are 7 and 2 and very well behaved. She has babysat for me before but only for like 2 hours at a time an I usually just give her like $20. But since I'm going to be gone so long I just wanted give her an hourly wage. She has no opinion on what I give her. She left that up to me. I will leave her with plenty of food and snacks for her and the kids to eat. So....what is the going rate for a babysitter today.

I was talking to some other people and minimum wage for a job here is $5.15 an hour so I was thinking of 5 or 6 an hour. Seems fair because she will be fed and have a computer and cable T.V. Like I said my kids are well behaved. The 2 year old is pretty independent and plays well alone when I'm doing housework and whatnot.

Earlier today I asked at what age we stop jumping?
I gave refrences of my grandchildren and their friends who are the ages from 2 through 8 and they jump all the time. The answers I got were about giving them too much sugar and kids jump........

What the actual question was, was a metaphor.

What I actually wanted to know is, at what age do the little things in life become unimportant?
I know as we get older we take on more resposibility and we grow more weary as the days go on, but why don't we jump when we can? Why do we always have to have an umbrella when there is the slightest hint of rain? When is the last time you splashed in a puddle? I can you I did today and I laughed and yes it was raining and I didn't have an umbrella.

I think we should just do as the children do and we would all have a little more fun every day. Look at the world through their eyes and see a different place.

Are there any ladies out there that are prego or have children who started to get menstrual feeling cramps about a week before your period and found out you were actually pregnant?? I am due around the 24th and I been getting cramping like I am going to start my period but I know I can't yet. Any one get this too and found out it was pregnancy?? Thanks!!

when a man ejaculates in you.... we all feel the semen coming down ...... how does sperm stay in us if gravity is doing it's thing.... and how can sperm live up to 5 days... if it oozed back out !!!! I had sex on the 16th.... O caledar says I s/b Oing on the 17th.... I was oozing all day the 16th... and early on the 17th .. I am hoping it didn't all leak out ...... LOL !!! I had my tubes tied three years ago during a c-section they removed i beleive pieces of the tubes and then burnt the ends. Some body told me it was still possible for the tubes to grow back?

I took her to the hospital this morning, she hadn't peed in 40 hrs. All the blood tests came back neg., Kidneys and liver are fine. She wasn't dehyrdated, no sign of any kind of infection at all. After 6+ hrs of I. V. drip ( 550ml) and 6 bottles she peed a little bit. Then the doctors just like "Okay, go home, she peed". It doesn't add up. What could have made her not pee for 2 days? (she also lost 2.5 lbs since thurseday, and has had a good appetite.)

so basically broward county florida the 5th largest school district is no longer making health and PE manatory and wants children in 8th grade to pick majors that they will study in highschool.... keep in mind thathealth class is the only place that most children will get real information on STD's and drug abuse and i dontknow about you but if i hadnt been requireed to take it then i would have never.... PE also isnt america getting fatter why make it so that you only take PE and health ifthats part of your major.... people in college dont even know what they want to do.... why make 8th graders choose that....

My cousin has a 3 1/2 month old baby girl. She finds it necessary to call, and e-mail me all the time asking in-depth queries about what my baby girl (9 months) was doing at this age, what she was eating, what milestones she had reached...you get the point.

Anyways, she is on this ultra paranoid guilt/ego trip about breast milk, and/or lack of. She decided not to pump at work often as she should, so she lost a bit of her supply. Now her baby is on like 30:70 ratio of breastmilk to formula. She says her baby is doing all these remarkable things I'm sure very few 3 month olds in history have attempted (trying to walk, talking, and sitting alone to name a few) and her milk was the reason. She criticizes me for quitting pumping for my girl at 5 months, and always says her baby will be smarter and "better" than mine. This is said jokingly, but often, so she means it in some degree. She also calls my baby "lard @ss", and "fatty taffy". She's 9 months, very tall, and only 25 lbs.

I think I am pregnant about 4/5 weeks (haven't tested yet, 4 days late, my period is sometimes off). Anyways, my fiance and I have beed trying to get pregnant (this is really only our second month) and well I have all the signs of pregnancy (which could also be period) except I am also light headed a LOT. I know with my first daughter I had a lot of problems with being lightheaded and passed out once or twice.

Is there ANYTHING I can do or take to help with the light headedness? I don't want it to get as bad as with my daughter because I need to work and take care of my baby girl (20 months) at the same time. I was hoping I wouldn't HAVE the light headedness the second time around, but it looks like I do (if I am pregnant, I think I will be taking the test in the morning).

I take a prenatal, drink plenty of water, and try to get a lot of sleep (on my way to be once I post this).

Anything else I can do?

i am 36 weeks today and have been in preterm labor since 31.5 weeks. today i am 2.5 cm dilated and the baby is at -1 station. i have contractions every day, sometimes 5 minutes apart for about an hour and then they start to let up.
what are the odds that i will deliver in the next couple of days?

I am 21 years old and mom to a great son named eddie. I got married last year to a man i met in my parenting class who is 28 years old and has a 13 year old daughter named claire. My husbands daughter did not live with him when we first got married and even met she lived with her mom. But unfortunatley her mom was arrested for drug use and possesion with intent to sell i believe. Ever since she has lived with us and been nothing but a problem. My husband only really paid child support and saw her maybe once a month now he is in Iraq. I have tried to bond with her trying to do things with her but she just hates me. More over i found a pregnancy test under her bed while cleaning? I suspected she was up to something but my husband just ignored me saying she was just in puppy love with her bf. I spoke to her and she told me she had sex i made her tak the test and it was positive though light.

My son is 2 weeks old and when I feed him he'll fall asleep. I'll lay him on my chest and he'll sleep fine, but as soon as I put him down to get some of my own rest he'll wake up and start crying and acting like he's hungry again and the only way to comfort him is to put him to my breast again.. is my milk supply low? or is he just being fussy? I'm getting frustrated with him wanting to eat ALL the time, and I dont want to suppliment with formula.

Me and my friend are fighting (again) and we don't want to talk to each other because she keeps saying really mean things to me or she will take one of my friends from a conversation or just from being with me just to talk about me behind my backmyufriend has tried to help us settle this but it isn't working. My daughter is about to drive me nuts. Anything anyone says or does she thinks is rude and she will go on and on for 10+ mins at a time. I just don't recall my oldest doing this and yes I know not all kids are the same. She even got mad at me because I went to the dentist yesterday and she didn't get to go.
