I think I am pregnant about 4/5 weeks (haven't tested yet, 4 days late, my period is sometimes off). Anyways, my fiance and I have beed trying to get pregnant (this is really only our second month) and well I have all the signs of pregnancy (which could also be period) except I am also light headed a LOT. I know with my first daughter I had a lot of problems with being lightheaded and passed out once or twice.

Is there ANYTHING I can do or take to help with the light headedness? I don't want it to get as bad as with my daughter because I need to work and take care of my baby girl (20 months) at the same time. I was hoping I wouldn't HAVE the light headedness the second time around, but it looks like I do (if I am pregnant, I think I will be taking the test in the morning).

I take a prenatal, drink plenty of water, and try to get a lot of sleep (on my way to be once I post this).

Anything else I can do?

With my daughter I had NO problem with my iron, doctor just told me it was normal. But I did increase my iron (found a low dose iron tablet) yesterday to be on the safe side. And I eat several small snacks (just in case it is blood sugar).

I just have to move slowly when bending over or getting up (a little annoying at work, I work for Wal-Mart there is a LOT of bending over and squating). Sometimes when I am standing it suddenly feels like the room is spinning, I usually just hold onto something and take a few slow deep breaths.

I was just wondering if there was anything else I can do.

Cashier is two play levels under me (I will take almost a dollar pay cut) and I can get a note to sit back in my department (cell phones) but just right now I don't want anyone to know I am pregnant AND I need to still go see a doctor (once a home test DOES say I am pregnant, I am taking one tomorrow).

I had this problem too, and did not have a blood sugar or iron problem. My doc said that I was producing a lot more blood, and the blood was doing a lot more work.

This seems a little early for that, though, so I thinik I would bring it up with my doctor (OB if you get that +, PCP if you don't), and make sure you don't have a problem that can be medicated.

Things you can do. You already said you were taking more iron, which would be one of my recommendations. The other would be to do everything that makes you dizzy in slow motion - getting up, bending over. Just do things more slowly and you should notice that it's not as bad.

Good Luck to you!

I'm not sure about anything to help with the light headiness, but could you request a position in a easier section... Maybe cashier? Sometimes when I go to walmart I see people sitting while cashiering. If you get a doctors note. They MUST accommodate you... and you cannot be discriminated against....

My wife experienced hypoglecemia, or low blood sugar, during pregnancy. A doctor can identify this with a blood test...but it would explain your symptoms.

A good diet during pregnancy is important. Make sure to eat foods high in fiber or natural carbs, and stay away from artificial sugars (soda, high-fructose corn syrup, etc). Eat often! Peanut butter, meats, and natural juices are all good options. If it turns out to be diet related, a dietician can help you improve your general diet.

Eat eat eat! Foods high in protein are very important. Hope this helps! :)

Tell y our doctor and have them test you for anemia......it's a thinning of the blood. I had it with my son. Scary as heck, and I needed extra iron to combat it.

But tell your doc.......definately!
