Pregnancy & Parenting - 26 June 2006

Ok I know, I know! I shouldn't be so stingy as going on to the hospital, but I do not want to have to drag my 6 year old out in the middle of this storm to go up there and set all night long and nothing happen. I have to go to the dr tomorrow at 1:00 and I don't know if I should just wait or what? I am 37-38 weeks pregnant and I have spotting when I go to the bathroom. No Pain, just kind of an uncomfortable feeling in my back. I was induced with my first and I have no idea what this is. What is your opinions and please if anyone else has had this what happened and what do you think? I have no family to be able to help wiht my other child and the father is in the coal mines about 6 miles under the ground or I would just call him and go but I am kinda stuck here. Should I wait or should I just go? Please help!!!!

I am 16 weeks Preg. we dont know if we are going to have a boy or a girl, but so far the names Patience, Faith are at the top for girl names, so i need to know what other people think about these two names. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Is it normal for your nipples to itch intensly and for the knob of your nipple to havve a dark purple band around it (not around the huge Areola (sp?) part but around the "knob"...itchy itchy itchy !!!!

Also I wonder i have been having sooooo much discharge (25 weeks) it is constant..and i had BV and yeast infection ..yuck yuck i know but i have to ask ladies

please help :(

I am on the pill but i missed taking one about 2 wks ago & had unprotected sex. I have never had PMS symptoms like this before so i dont know whats going on.

About 2 weeks ago me and my girlfriend were fooling around and i ejaculated getting it on my stomach. I then went to the bathroom and wiped it all off and got some on my finger so i wiped it off good so my fingers were dry and not wet at all. I then fingered her about 15-30 mins after that and i am very scared because i am not sure if the sperm was still on my fingers when it was dry and wiped off so my question is...is it possible that she can be pregnant? she is 10 days away from having her period and i am very scared so can someone please help me

I am 7 months pregnant with my third child (others are 4 and 2) and I am BEAT. The kids trash the house faster than I can clean it, I cant lift or bend because it causes contractions and I am already feeling very close to preterm labor. I am crampy and sore a lot and I know this isn't good. My husband is "married" to his job and is often late, when he does come home he eats dinner and goes to sleep. I need help and I am not getting it. Yes he helps cook and does some lifting and all, but tons more is not getting done. If I ask for help he acts like I am asking way too much and starts nitpicking everthing I am doing wrong. I don't have friends or family nearby because over the last year everyone has moved away.
I am so tired of trying to make him understand how hard it is to be so pregnant, rasing kids ect. How can I get him to help me and understand the situation (which he seems ignorant to) without causing more fighting?
Please help!

Me and my husband are trying to conceive a second child....I am wondering...Is it ok to do abdominal exercises (sit ups, crunches, etc.) while trying to conceieve and also during the first trimester?? Or will doing sit ups harm the growing fetus during the first 3 months of pregnancy?

My daughter is 2 & a half yrs old & i have a 5 point harness carseat for my daughter & it holds up to 80 lbs, she is 32 lbs & 36 inches tall, she is starting to get too tall to use the 5 point harness seat belt in the carseat, there is hooks on the carseat for the regular seat belts in the car, is she still too young or small to start useing the bigger seat belts while shes still in her carseat? plus my Sister-in-law has been babysitting my daughter & i give her the carseat for her car, while she has my daughter, well she told me that she put my daughter in her 8 yr old daughters booster carseat which has no back to it, i got upset, because i think my daughter is too young for a booster carseat, i feel safer with my daughter being in a 5 point harness carseat for now, shes is starting to get too tall for the 5 point harness strapes in her carseat, so would it be ok strape her in her carseat with the seat belts to the car, or should i wait til next year? she'll be 3 in september!

Hi. My hcg's have been post-menopausal for over 15 years... until i had symptoms of pregnancy a few weeks ago. this was caused by treatment for advanced cancer (high dose chemo and full body radiation for two years). i am miraculously cured.

the last few years i have had a period maybe two to three times a year.

about six weeks ago i started to have nausea and it hasn't stop since then. a friend of mine convin\ced me to take a pregnancy test. the first came up blank. the second came up with a super super faint positive.

i went to the doctors and she said that my uterus is enlarged (after exam). i then went it to get a intervaginal ultrasound. it revealed a sac the shape and size of one normally carrying a baby. there was also what appeared to be a small round dot. the placenta appeared to be very active pumping blood into the uterus.
my estrogen is very high.. but my hcg is very (!) low = -2 in the past it was very much lower . has anyone been through this? hcg injections?

My daughter wants to spend time with me at the times when she has to do something or at bedtime. I come up with something to do to spend time with her but it is never good enough, or she has other things she wants to do. I don't like forcing her to spend time with me and her dad because then we never have a good time because she is pouting and being grumpy. I don't know what to do. She always tells me "i need you, I haven't seen you all day". You never spend time with me. But when I try to she would rather do something else. I am frustrated but I feel bad when she does that stuff to me. What do I do? Help!!!!!

My 4 yr old daughters are so sweet most of the time, but in public situations they have a tendency to freak out. Like in church, we have had to chase them up and down the aisles in the middle of a service. In the library they can be quiet, but the minute one of them starts to get loud the other joins in. Some people have told me that they just need to be disiplined, but I do that on a regular basis with time outs. I have had help from speech therapists and behavioral therapists, but they seem to behave better in such a setting. I'm afraid they will need medication, or should I question my mothering abilities in regards to discipline. It seems that teaching a child not to run around during a church service would be an easy thing to do. Hey, try chasing two children going in different directions, wearing heels. I've stopped wearing heels for that very reason. Running shoes to chruch. It's come to that. I don't want to stop going to church.

my 1yr. old has had this diaper rash for about a month. i have tried every kind of ointment and none really work that well. the rash will start to clear up but when she has a bowel movement it automatically gets worse again. also her stool has been runny lately. i change her constentely so she isn't in a soiled diaper for long. i am going to call the dr. tomorrow, but does anyone have any tips for the meantime?

I have a 7 month old, she hates the bottle, not formula bu tjust the bottle. The minute i put her down in the drinking position she starts to fight and wants to get out of my arms, so I feed her her formula with cereal 3 times a day and try to get about 15 to 17oz of formula in a day. She eates a veggie and yougurt with the above as well once a day. She is growing just fine but I have to time her in order to feed her in her high chair. her last meal for the night is 5 oz of formula with about 3tbsp of cereal, and she is very sleepy taking it but we manage to feed it to her. She sleeps by 8:30 p.m and wakes up about 4times a night and then I have to rock her to sleep or get her into my bed. Then she gets up at 6 a.m and starts to hat so I offer the bottle and manage putting 2oz in her and then let her sleep for an hour and then start with her cereal at 8:30 a.m. She is 7 mts and about 16.5lbs

i am dating and have a child with a man that has another child with an ex of 3 years. last year the mother of his child passed away suddenly in a car accident. the child is 2 and a half. my boyfriend wants to get custody but i am worried. he doesn't commit himself to our child completely already. i'm worried he won't his son either. is it selfish to not want to get the child for fear i will be the only caretaker? what do i do? i'm so young and a first time mom myself.
