Have a baby when you are young, better than old.
You can enjoy the child(ren) longer.

Wait a minute you have not told your mom because why? Second of all I would not be worried about a name for the baby yet. I had a baby at 18 be then I also got married and that did not last a long time. You dont know who the father of your baby is? WHY? Well it is all fine and dandy that derick is cute, nice, funny and caring but does he have what ittakes to support you and the baby? Fianancially can he make sure that baby has everything he/she could need or want ? Do either of you have stable jobs? I suggest you tell your mother because girl you will need someone to talk too about things concerning the baby. GOODLUCK

I am a mother of 2 children now i had my first son at 17 years old and I'm telling you it wasn't easy as you need to give up the life you want or thought you would you do at 18 years old. Once you have a child your a mother for life. You can go for a paternity test to find out the father of the child and i think that you should just tell your parents because nothing is going to change the fact that your having a baby so the more time they have to get used to the idea before the baby comes the better it can be for you.

Cute, nice, funny and caring in an 18 year old boy...hmmm, sounds like the perfect qualities for someone to be a father and have the responsibility of raising a child for the rest of his life. I am sure Derick has no plans for his future, no goals or dreams and that he wanted to have a tie to you for the rest of his life...

Grow Up!!

You don't sound 18 and NO, it is not ok. Please put the baby up for adoption, close your legs, never see Derick again and go back to school.

I had my daughter when I was 18. My parents had mixed emotions. If I were you, I would tell my mom. There are so many things that could go wrong (I'm not saying that they will) and if somthing bad would happen wouldn't you want your mom to already know? It would be a lot easier if you told her I know its hard trust me, but as soon as that baby is here everything changes for the best. I PROMISE!!!
If you think the father is Derick then get a DNA test done. Its that easy.

Good Luck!!

Generally a bad idea to have a baby at that age, but I'm not you, and no one else can decide for you. Ask yourself some questions:
1: Can I handle this? Am I mature enough? Can I support myself and the baby?
2. How will my parents react? You're an adult, but you're young enough that, if they will be supportive, they might be willing or able to help you, with the baby, school, job, etc.
3. Whoever the dad is, will he stick with me, or run away? Remember, whoever the dad is OWES you child support if he is not helping you support the child. That's the law.
4. If you can't support yourself and the child, and you don't have help, and there seem to be no other alternatives, consider putting the child up for adoption. It's not easy, but it's better than ruining your life and the child's life. And these days, you decide whether you and the child can continue to know each other--they don't just whisk the baby away anonymously anymore.

Whatever you decide, good luck. Raising a kid is hard, even if the father is around.

And next time, use a condom.

1 hour ago you were thinking about having sex with Derick, then you were just late with your period, now you are pregnant and the guy you think is the father you hadn't even had sex with an hour ago?
Honey you are way to young and immature to be having children. Get yourself on some good form of birth control or better yet stop having sex with anyone but yourself. People like you should not have children, I see too many young girls behaving just like you are now walking around downtown in the city I live in, pushing a stroller, not in school, and collecting welfare because either their parents kicked them out or they decided that it was a better idea to go it alone or live with the half baked boyfriend who is going to leave anyway. Just don't do it in the first place, there are too many young parents out there having a hard time of it as it is.

If this is even legitimate, you and your child both need to be examined by a doctor. You need to tell your mother and all the people you think could be the father. A paternity test is almost inevitable. Apparently you thought you were mature and responsible enough to have sex and conceive a child, so you should be mature and responsible enough to take control of the situation. And no, I do not think having a baby at 18 is at all good. I think growing up, learning some life lessons, educating yourself, learning to function on your own in society, and being emotionally and financially stable is a very important prerequisite to becoming a parent.

I think you should tell your mom, since you are uncertain of the baby's father at least maybe your mom could try to help you when necessary. She is going to notice eventually anyway. Be honest and up front with her and she may be more apt to help you. I had my first child at 17, it was tough. Raising a child is a lot of hard work. If you have a support person at least you know when times get hard you will have someone to talk to and to let you know if you are doing all the right things. As for a name I like Kylie for a girl and Kyle for a boy. Good luck and congratulations!

u should have waited till ur mid20's and u should tell ur mom right now!, talk with derick and if he says he wont help, slap him for getting u knocked up, love the baby, its all ur going to have to remind u of ur childhood, ake sure that she/he goes to school and makes friends and everything. make sure u have a job so u dont wind up like another trailer park mom with a really old kid for suck a young mom. name the child something that fits, it will be the name od the baby for the rest of his or hers life. the most important thing is to love the child and raise them right, do not degrade the child by mentioning how the child may have been an accident and dont wind up in a trailer park, it will only make the child further scarred. Love that child, because if ur BF ditches u and ur mom gets mad 4 keeping it from her, it will b the only thing u have left... love it and teach it

Having a baby is alot of responsibility not knowing who the father is HARD, putting on the paternity of a child on an person u are not sure is the father (just cause u think his nice) can be a big problem. Talk to you mother let her know of ur pregnancy and ur situation she may be able to help u out.
