I think that in some places it may even vary by county or city. So, your best bet is to call you local Sherrif's office or Law Enforcement Office (the police) and ask them . After all, if something were to go wrong, they will be the first one's to be called!!!

I am in MS. There is no legal age. I called department of human services in our county and asked, They said for me to determine. My daughter was 10 My son is 10 and i would never leave him home alone. He is TOO immature. I think it solely depends on the maturity of your child too.

The best way to find out is to talk to someone that works with an organization that deals with the rights of children and youth. You may find out by talking to the police, calling domestic relations or even a child couselor.

Try picking up the telephone and calling the child welfare bureau. They will be able to tell you exactly what the regulations are West Virginia.
