US goverment and military were very stronger than Saddam's and they could defeat him only in 20 days.

Now why they can not have control over Iraq while Saddam with his weak goverment could do it?

this new guy, I forgot his name, wants to pull out and let the terrorists win. England shouldn't be allowed to do that. Can't we in the USA encourage a strong rebellion in England to have this this phony thrown out?

I mean, he was never elected like tony blair was so he might as well be a dictator, huh?

Teen preg, crime, drug abuse - there is a perception here in the UK of a nation in crisis, a modern Sodom & Gomorrah with a disintegrating sense of shared social values.

And btw, contrary to myth, the UK has a much higher crime rate(inc. violent crime) than the US, as shown by all recent studies

eg last UN international comparison:

After all, they've now thrown their former star Fred Thompson into the "not conservative enough" mix with Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Mitt Romney. (How crazy-fascist do you have to be if those guys aren't conservative enough?) Is Petraeus the new great olive-drab hope to succeed their beloved Bush?

Several times the opinions of retired military generals has been ignored by conservatives regarding the Iraq War.

I don't have a problem with this. If you think the retired generals are wrong, you're entitled to that opinion. What I do have a problem with is the double-standard when it comes to criticizing Petraeus.

I'll even grant you that the MoveOn ad may have been in bad taste (though the resolution to condemn it is absurd). But Giuliani is condemning Hillary for saying

"The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief"

He calls that character assassination. Why is it only okay for conservatives to ignore and criticize members of the military?

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

Should government be doing this? And if so, then at what level of government? But they don’t. "

And do you believe in bigger or smaller government, and why.

If you anyone actually believes that if we leave Iraq and the middle east that terrorists will stop attacking us, tell me why you think that? Also tell me what we will do with the over 1 million people put on unemployment after we end this war and pull out of the middle east. Then tell me what would be the implications of an all out war with syria, iran , iraq, turkey, Israel, Jordan , Saudi Arabia, and kuwait all fighting. Think of the Macroeconomics (big economic picture worldwide) of quadrupled (or more) oil prices.

The Democrats are for the poor, right? No insults or rants, dems, answer the freaking question: What EXACTLY have you done for the poor besides hand-outs?

They should have a sign in every poor area saying 'Democrats at work-- NOT'

Obama is well spoken and sharp man, no doubt, but, when speaking of anything but social issues he seems forced and tentative, at best, his performance at the Senate hearings a few days ago, well, mixed, what do you think?

Here's a helpful guide:
Iran threatens 'America's interests', not America.
Everybody knows what America is. Nobody talks about what 'America's interests' are.
To the average person, it matters what happens in America. Not what happens to 'America's interest'.
