If universal health care goes into existence will only the working class and the poor have to be controlled by the governments health plan, while the rich go to the best doctors and private hospitals? How do you think it will work? Will you have to be screened for health care and put on a waiting list?

"I now saw the liberal attitude of this press in a different light; the lofty
tone in which it answered attacks and its method of killing them with silence
now revealed itself to me as a trick as clever as it was treacherous;
gentle pinpricks against [Our President] revealed its methods by their persistency,
and so did its commendation of French culture and civilization."

-ACKERMAN: Isn't it true, General, Al-Qaeda in Iraq formed in 2005?

-PETRAEUS: Senator, I'm not saying when it started. I'm saying merely that Al-Qaeda/Iraq clearly is part of the overall greater Al-Qaeda network.

-ACKERMAN: But they didn't exist --

-PETRAEUS: -- first communications, and there is no question also but that Al-Qaeda/Iraq is a key element in igniting the ethnic sectarian violence.

-PETRAEUS: They have been, in effect, an element that has poured gas on burning embers with the bombing of the Golden Dome Mosque, for example, and with efforts that they have tried recently, for example, bombing the poor Yazidi villages in northwestern Iraq and so forth.

-ACKERMAN: Are they a threat to us?

-PETRAEUS: Al-Qaeda central is a threat to us.

On September 11, 2007 a Public Rally was held in Brussels to protest the actions of Islamic Extremists. The Mayor of Brussels banned the Rally but it took place anyway and 147 peaceful Protestors were arrested. They were protesting (marching and holding banners). Many went to the Rally just to support Free Speech.

They were Protesting the actions of Islamic Extremists on 9/11 2001 and the Islam-ification of Europe. There have been 9457 Deadly Islamic Extremist attacks since 9/11.

Bear in mind that Muslims carried Banners all across Europe over the Danish Cartoons but also in Brussels with slogans like;
"Death to America"
"Death to Infidels"
"Behead anyone who insults Islam"
In Brussels Cars were burned and people were injured but nobody was arrested (unlike the U.K. where most were arrested for inciting hatred).

Muslims have no problem with protesting Cartoons but are silent when it comes to Honor Killings, Extremist Attacks and abuses of Human Rights.

Is Free Speech Dead?

I keep hearing that we only went into Iraq because of Bush and the republicans and because they were the majority at the time, so it wouldn't have mattered whether some or all of the democrats voted against it. Well, democrats are in control of the congress, so am I wrong to say that if they all vote against funding the war, our troops will have to come home?

My point is that democrats are just as responsible for the mess as the republicans are. The republicans admit that they voted for the war, but the democrats are playing two sides. They keep funding it, and then they say we should withdraw. What's up with that irony?

What extreme measure would have to take place for you to see the severity and actuality in it? Another tragic instance like 9/11? Maybe two more tragic instances like 9/11? What is it that makes you think that this war is useless and has no real purpose? What makes you think that there are absolutely no Islamic terrorists who seek and dream of killing Americans and destroying the US? What gives you the idea that AMERICANS are the blatantly evil ones who just want to be in a war to kill?

Instead of moping about how conservatives are stupid or crazy to think there are threats waiting to attack America, why can't you take a moment to maybe use the part of your brain called 'logic' to see that there ARE threats? Why do so many of you take terrorism so lightly and try to pass it off as nonexistent? Are you just afraid to accept the bitter truth? Do you just enjoy being contrary and defiant towards Republicans? Or are you just that painfully ignorant that you don't see it?

Opinions differ among Middle East experts and former government officials about the pre-Iraqi tilt, and whether Washington could have done more to stop the flow to Baghdad of technology for building weapons of mass destruction.

"It was a horrible mistake then, but we have got it right now," says Kenneth M. Pollack, a former CIA military analyst and author of "The Threatening Storm," which makes the case for war with Iraq. "My fellow [CIA] analysts and I were warning at the time that Hussein was a very nasty character. We were constantly fighting the State Department."

The brain neurons of liberals and conservatives fire differently when confronted with tough choices, suggesting that some political divides may be hard-wired, according a study released Sunday.
.....
Dozens of previous studies have established a strong link between political persuasion and certain personality traits.

Conservatives tend to crave order and structure in their lives, and are more consistent in the way they make decisions. Liberals, by contrast, show a higher tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, and adapt more easily to unexpected circumstances.
...
The match-up was unmistakable: respondents who had described themselves as liberals showed "significantly greater conflict-related neural activity" when the hypothetical situation called for an unscheduled break in routine.

Conservatives, however, were less flexible, refusing to deviate from old habits "despite signals that this ... should be changed."
