Even a four star general can not see the future. Can you see the next terrorism attack in your crystal ball? I can't.

Petraeus is just a general... he is not Jesus Christ, although a lot of people are acting like he is.
This is not the only person that can assess the war. He is not the greatest war chief ever. The fact is that he has just said the same things he said a few years ago (and the same rhetoric that the administration that has said) and it still got worse. Iraq is a mess and he has just said a bunch of general optimistic B.S. but not any real assessment. Is anyone surprised though?

If he's such an "expert" then why is practically every other flag rank officer that has spoken out knows th eIraqwar is just making matters wors and endangering America?
I know a lot of people (on both sides of the issue) want to believe Petraeus is sincere. but the cold hard fact is that bush fired his predecessor--General Pace (and others) and demanded that the new Iraq commander and Chairman of the Joint Cheifs toe his "stay the course" line.
Some officers refused appointments in Bush's new command line-up. Petraeus had the chance to do that. Instead he chose to be bush's lap dog--at the expense of the welfare of the men and women under his command and of America's welfare. If he doesn't realize that , he is incompetant--if he does, he has betrayed his duty as an officer. Either way, he should either resign or be relieved of command before he cause any more American soldiers to be killed.

As a soldier who has been to Iraq, all I can say is what do you want from the General, He came to Washington, gave the facts fresh from the field with eyes on, and you want to disrespect him because you, and guys like Moveon.org, or Daily Kos, or George Soros, lack courage and lack Military training and Knowledge, of what the real situation is!!!!! out there!!!!!The general has forgotten more about Military Tactics and Military Knowledge than all you guys put together, and because he didn't say what you wanted to hear your gonna be a bunch of Whiny little Anti-American hope our enemies win???????? Are you freakin kidding me Grow up, How dare you and your Moveon.org, Daily Kos, George Soros, Insult the commander of U.S. FORCES IN A TIME OF WAR SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You never been to Iraq and only know what anti-American groups spoon feed you, well pal, the General gave the facts, a man who lives this war inside and out every day of his life, compared to you Monday Morning quarterbacking a war you have no idea about, from your couch, I'll take the Generals word and Soldiers word over that anyday!!!!!!!

He also has no credibility.
Three years ago he was using the exact same words to describe progress in Iraq as he is using today.
Sorry....NEXT!
