The only factions that we hear about being a part of the insurgency is Shiites and Sunni's but there is a third faction, the Kurds. According to our own military, the secterian violence has diminished mostly because these factions have 'segregated' themselves by ethnic cleaning. Why not just take the land and divide it amongst the factions, giving the land that borders Iran and Syria to the Shiite, the land that borders Saudi Arabia to the Sunni's and the border towards Turkey to the Kurds???

I mean, we should never fight for politics, either theirs or ours, right?

That "war is policy" stuff from Machiavelli...that is cr@p.

Marx, Castro, and Chavez...they have the right clear thinking ideology.

I mean, the way he summarized the LIE, that when Democrats said it it was not a LIE, but when Republicans said it it was a huge LIE? Doesn't this show to the American people and the world a great ability to spin issues of the day? Isn't that what politics is all about?

If Bush had done even 1 single thing he promised this country, we would never have had to hear from this old spook ever again...

And it is a FACT that Bush has shaken hands with more members of Bin Laden's family than he has shaken the hands of democrats...

Why haven't they come to grips with the fact that people hate us and this is not a 'lovey dovey' world where everyone gets along? People hate us and we have to fight to survive! Don't liberals realize that they're freedom to have unproductive protests and say the asinine things that they say were brought and paid for with precious American blood?

Blood that we still shed til this very day/

or at a minimimum health care reform.

The average cost of a family plan purchased by employers this year hit a new high, $12,106, according to the survey. Individual coverage premiums averaged $4,479.

The cost for family coverage has risen 78% since 2001, while wages have risen 19% and prices for goods and services have risen 17% in that period,

The average amount paid above is over one fourth of what the average American earns in a year. If you throw in the high deductibles required now, just to get your premiuims down to only $12,000 a year, the actual cost of health care is even higher.

GENERAL PETRAEUS OR GENERAL BETRAY US?

General Petraeus is a military man constantly at war with the facts. In 2004, just before the election, he said there
was “tangible progress” in Iraq and that “Iraqi leaders are stepping forward.” And last week Petraeus, the architect
of the escalation of troops in Iraq, said, “We say we have achieved progress, and we are obviously going to do
everything we can to build on that progress.”

Every independent report on the ground situation in Iraq shows that the surge strategy has failed. Yet the General
claims a reduction in violence.

New York Times reports, the Pentagon has adopted a bizarre formula for keeping tabs on violence. E.G, deaths by car bombs don’t count.
Washington Post reports that assassinations only count if you’re shot in the back of the head — not the front.
Associated Press reports, there have been more civilian deaths and more American soldier deaths in the past 3 months than at anytime in the last 4 years.

Or are we just going to end up back there in a year anyway when the next rogue dictator rises up without anyone bothering to stop them?

On BBC this AM they had a segment about the millions of Iraqi people who have fled to Syria and that Syria is now so full they are going to start constructing camps for the droves of Iraqis flooding into their country. That's the truth and sadness behind war, it's not about ideologies, these people are real people, could you imagine if this happened to you???

The list of Generals that conservatives have called traitors includes:

General Anthony Zinni
General Charles Swannack
Major General John Batiste
Marine Corps Lieutenant General Gregory Newbold
Army Major General Paul Eaton

and includes former Bush administration officials:

Richard Clarke
Paul O’Neill
John DiIulio

And yet conservatives trot out false moral outrage when Democrats doubt "Perfect Peter" Petraeus

80% of them came from Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden first denied involvement in the attacks , but has since admitted his involvement.

One response to 9-11 was to invade and occupy Iraq. Given that, what horrible punishment have we heaped on Saudi Arabia?

Why has Bin Laden never even been indicted for his role?

The leftwing media seems to have taken umbrage at his "folksy" mannerisms and down-home demeanor in the same way they did Ronald Reagan. This could be bad news for libs, and great news for Thompson:

Fred Thompson is just like you
Sep. 10, 2007 | The ol' Southern lawyer Freddie Dalton Thompson stands before two stuffed chickens and a fake white picket fence, where a plastic grapevine pretends to grow at the end of a phony Main Street. He's here to tell a crowd of a couple hundred that he is the real thing, a small-town boy who never had much ambition, who never grew up wanting to be president, who still doesn't know where he stands on many issues -- but ain't America a wonderful country

In the tradition of George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, he is running to win the have-a-beer primary, hoping his Southern charm makes up for anything he lacks on his résumé
