Unfortunately, many of these "questions" are simply a method of spreading propaganda or are smear tactics on the part of the right-wing (not real Repbulicans or conservatives). There is no "civil" way to answer them--nor should we try. To do so would only perpetuate the pretense that the right is interested in debate--which they are not.
There are also some of these coming from the liberal side. But--if you pay attention, you will see tha tmost of it is coming from the faar right.
Which is no surprise: years ago the "neoconservatives" adopted a policy of division, using moral intimidation and wedge issues to gain power. Now they are getting their own back. If they don't like it, tough. They asked for it.

Good luck with that. Generalizations and insults are the tools for the YA trolls. And some of the "true believers."

Unfortunately, yes. There will always be people who get off on the shock and insult value of their questions and answers. Chalk it up to immaturity.

No, it is not too much to ask. People need to realize that everyone has a right to their own opinion, and that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and civility.

Sadly, I believe it is. Too many folks here like to engage in that kind of behavior.
I think what scares me the most is I think a lot of these folks really believe the stuff they spew out.

It would be nice, but I guess a lot of people feel big behind anonymity and feel the need to go off on people since there will be no consequences.

The reason nothing gets done is these two teams love to win more than do the right thing.

Very good, Sly how do you propose to stop the ignorance? Too much hate and mudslingers on here.
