"And let me be clear: the violence in Anbar has gone down despite the surge, not because of the surge. The lack of protection for these tribes from al Qaeda made it clear to these tribes, “We have to fight al Qaeda ourselves.” It wasn’t that the surge brought peace here. It was that the warlords had to create a temporary peace here on their own. And that is because there was no one else there protecting them"

Good president, but poor chooser of shampoo? Bad president, but first rate hole digger? Please feel free to offer your input. That's what the impression of democracy is all about.

Is he a "surrender monkey" too?

Commitments will still exceed sustainable levels and he still isn't doing anything about increasing force levels to sustain this kind of war, but it is still a step backward.

And how are Busheviks going to blame Bill Clinton. "Did you know that Bill Clinton led the Persians to the goat path that let them outflank the 300 Spartans? The Liberal Press covered it up."

Bush's lie-based trillion-dollar quagmire in Iraq has almost broken our military.

We will need to reduce troops next year REGARDLESS OF THE SITUATION, or face a BROKEN MILITARY.

SO HOW DO YOU CONS EXPLAIN WHY YOU THINK WE CAN KEEP BLEEDING IN IRAQ FOREVER?

If we have 150,000 troops in Iraq, more or less, why does the government need to hire these private troops at 5 or more times the pay level of our regular troops?

How is that "cost effective" ?

Someone please tell me how Osama bin Laden managed the events of 911? Someone please tell me who in the US was smart enough, and had enough intelligence to have brought about the very calculated, well planned events of 911? If Osama had martyrs dumb enough die in those planes, who then on the ground here in the USA was smart enough to bring it all together...
Not Osama....

When they're supposed to be remembering the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Well, you can always count on the good conservatives.

But to be fair though, not all liberals have forgotten. (Which is like, 1.5 out of 10)

GOD BLESS AMERICA, OUR TROOPS, AND THE 9/11 VICTIMS!

I'm somewhat confused on the distinctions between these two political systems. I know their ideaologies are very different, as fascists are right-wing and communists are left-wing. But I do not see many differences in the way the systems are run. I thought that the right-wing was supposed to be conservative and authoritarian, while the left wing is geared more towards liberalism. But to me, it seems both sytems are very authoritarian. The government imposes heavy sanctions in both systems and neither side seems to value individualism or liberty, as you would think would exist on the left-wing. Is my confusion plausible or do I just sound like an ignorant asshole right now?
