Because a Republican is President and they don't want to see him win a war. And they don't give a damn if the whole Country goes down the drain because we lost.

If our soldiers were fighting a war, I think more people from both sides would support the war effort. However, they aren't really fighting a war. They are acting as national police and security guards for another nation, which is not what they are trained to do. They are policing this country so that the damage that has been done to it, both physically and politically, can be rebuilt. But the people doing the building were awarded no bid government contracts, and are all huge corporations making huge profits for a select few multinational businessmen.

Democrats, and a growing number of republicans support the soldiers, who are really just normal people with families like everyone else, by suggesting that perhaps the best use of human life is not safeguarding a hostile country so that Halliburton can rebuild it, Exxon/ Mobil can harvest it's resources, and Lockheed Martin can keep selling bullets and bombs to every side involved.

i'm not a democrat,i was a republican but now i hate both sides. but anyways, i would say it's because our government has become too corrupt to support. everything is about the almighty dollar these days and it's getting to the point where we'll have to divide our country (peacefully if possible) if the american people don't grow some kahonies and form a government "by the people, for the people" instead of letting big businesses and special interest groups run our lives.

Because the administration is republican and a successful war on terror initiated by this administration might serve to keep them out of the White House a few more terms.
Unfortunately, supporting the United States appears to be secondary to their quest for the White House. I don't say this lightly, their actions and policies tend to prove that they are more interested in criticizing and demeaning our efforts in Iraq than being concerned with what might well be best for the security and safety of America.
Their lame, left wing agendas are going nowhere as long as there's a republican at the helm - simple as that.

The very premise of your question is wrong. Turn off the Faux news and learn about the world. They're lying to you.
Saddam had NOTHING to do with 9-11.
Bush and his buddies lied and fabricated false evidence to convince you otherwise. I knew they were lying when they did it. Why didn't you?
This war was planned years ago. Read about the "Plan for a new American century." Written and signed by the guys who siezed upon our fears and lied us into a war for profit.
We are not spreading democracy. The people who started this HATE the word. They are speading oligarchy. And making billions from it.

They don't want to get behind the war effort. It would mean they actually have to do some work.

I think your question is inflammatory and an unnecessary attack. Democrats would not question the patriotism of a Republican as you have the Democrats. We just have different perspectives on the same subjects.

I think the war was unnecessary and based upon flawed (purposely tainted) intelligence. We need to get out with honor at the earliest possible moment.

those two things are not connected.

Many democrats don't believe in any war. Simple as that.

And I'm sure there are also a few Republicans who feel that way too.

The main difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans actually love this country.

If they supported the US and not the enemy, they wouldn't be Democrats would they?
