No, he isn't threatening us. He is merely stating a fact. Look at how well we are doing in Iraq. There is absolutely no way that we can escalate the war into Iran and beat them if we can't even put down the Iraqi Resistance. Instead, Iran would trap us in the Persian Gulf by sinking our Navy and would massacre our troops and then they'd take over Iraq in order to stabilize it.

If we don't attack Iran, Ahmadinejad is going to lose the next election because his approval ratings are about 15%. Bush is in trouble and he's in the 30s. Ahmadinejad and his predecessors have destroyed Iran's economy with Keynesian economic policies and the Iranian people are sick and tired of them and want to adopt Capitalism.

If we just stay out of Iran, things will improve in that country. The same is also probably true in Iraq. Since it is a mess in Iraq and people are being killed left-and-right, why not leave? It can't get much worse there and we could definitely use our border patrol agents back on the Mexican border.

It is obvious from the responses here that most people don't know what is going on. Iran and Russia have just ironed out a mutual defence pact. An attack on Iran means that Russia will respond. I have also heard that the Russian Spetznaz (Russian special forces) have already entered Iran to help them set up defences. Putin is right. If we attack, Iran, something bad will happen.
