Absolutely. The whole idea behind policy is to act in America's best national interest. The idea too, is compromise, not partisan wants.

What exactly does the concept, "America's interests," really mean? Does it mean what's best for the nation and/or its people? Does it mean what's best for all Americans, even the poor? No, it doesn't and it never has.
The term, "America's interests" has always been a buzzword bandied about by the political leaders of this nation to rally support for causes that primarily benefit the government, the corporate-military-industrial complex, and the wealthy elites that said complex and the government serve. It is almost never used to indicate anything that is of real benefit to the American people.

America's interests meaning oil. I know you hate oil and think we'd be better off without it. but as you sit there in front of your monitor posting your left wing diatribes while dipping your spoon into your bowl of cheerios let me ask you this, how do you think that bowl of cheerios came to be?
A farmer plowed his field, planted the grains, and harvested them with diesel powered farm equipment. Then they were taken to the mill in a diesel powered truck, after it was turned into your cereal it was loaded onto another truck, or a train and taken to the grocery warehouse, who then loads it into another truck and takes it to your store, where it waits for you to fire up your gasoline powered hippymobile to pick it up.
Yes, America's interests are oil, not the total take over of it as you think, but protecting the supply chain so it can get to the free market. Why? because Americans like to eat. Our economy and survival depends on it.

American interest are goods and services, like the gasoline you power your car with. When American interests are threatened, the goods and services we rely on become scarce and the price is effected...having said that I find it funny that many people are not concerned about American interests, but scream bloody murder when the cost of gasoline goes up.

As an American who has spent plenty of time around here watching your questions, I can tell you that your idea of "America's interests" and mine are worlds apart.
Americans cannot succeed financially if Americans do not have jobs. And your idea of doing away with corporate America is the fastest way of doing away with jobs.

I haven't come across you in a long time. We protect our interest like we protect our children. They can't protect themselves. You have been wrong in so many ways. Good to see your keeping the candle lit.
