If it was guaranteed to bring our men and women home sooner?

Hypothetically of course, or is it just that it is Bush's plan that makes people mad?

quickly degrade to insults and disparaging comments about liberals? I enjoy a good political debate but if you're just going to resort to insults and generalizations, count me out. And FYI, I lean both ways depending upon the issue, I don't blindly follow the party lines.

Will you prove me wrong?

Foreign means from another country. Invader is someone who attacks, especially without provocation, from outside the border.

Are we really the foreign invaders in Iraq? It sounds so terrible. Maybe we can petition the crusty guys in Oxford and Cambridge to amend the language so it doesn't sound so incriminating?

He said, "We also need to examine ways to mobilize talented American civilians to deploy overseas where they can help build democratic institutions in communities and nations recovering from war and tyranny."

Whether it's helping get the homeless into homes, fighting malaria and other diseases in Africa or spending on U.S. poverty programs, President Bush is breaking records _ and getting no credit for it. /snip/ But then you stumble on the Bush ambition regarding chronic homelessness. He wants to end it, and the consequences of administration efforts to date are amazing_significant percentage drops in such cities as San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami, Dallas, Denver and Portland, Ore.

The press only rarely covers the EU, mostly when an enlargement or some other major decision is concerned. Should however the press also pay attention to the less known aspects such as daily EU policy, so that European citizens know more about the institution that has such a huge impact on their lives?

It was a war I was never in favor of as it made no sense then as Saddam was a contained threat! The Congress and press gave Bush a pass didnt ask serious questions! Now when Congress sees the folly they take cover when they are as complicit as Bush! Any friends we had in the Muslim world are now clandestine friends and the Arab streeet is solidly against us. All for a policy - Democratic government - in the Middle East! A wholly lunatic idea! Study the nation states of the region and the history behind them! Sadly there are countries where democracy can not be imposed on a people who are jealous and have hate for his neighbor! Mind you I am a conservative Republican whose major at University was American Foreign Policy so those who blindly follow the president please offer thought out and reasoned answers not mindless drivel and liberals dont give me a line of Bush is a war criminal!! I want to hear thought out reasons on you views of the "new" policy on Iraq. Can we still "win"!!

I may have an idea of why but not sure yet. I think he is sending more troops because there are problems with population, economy, jobs, and might be heading back to depression so the @ssholle is sending all the American people to be killed off in Iraq like over populated kats at the shelter. I'm just against all this meaningless war. What does everyone else think?

What I mean is this. If any member of the govt. (congress, senate, President, etc. etc.) voted yes for a foreign war, at least one member of their immediate family would be required to go fight in that war. This person would be required by law to be on the front line with a rifle.
