Whether it's helping get the homeless into homes, fighting malaria and other diseases in Africa or spending on U.S. poverty programs, President Bush is breaking records _ and getting no credit for it. /snip/ But then you stumble on the Bush ambition regarding chronic homelessness. He wants to end it, and the consequences of administration efforts to date are amazing_significant percentage drops in such cities as San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami, Dallas, Denver and Portland, Ore.

It is rather ironic that even though even though Bush's policies and efforts on many fronts are farther to the left than Clinton's, he is villified on every front by liberals. From prescription drug plans, (impotent and expensive, but there none the less), amnesty to illegal aliens, subsidies to the steel industry, increases in the rate of federal spending on education, Bush has advanced so-called liberal agendas at almost every turn. He has however, three things going against him he will never overcome: Botched management of the war has left him in a quagmire with no time for resolution during his term. (I am not personally commenting about the rightiousness of the war one way or the other.) He is seen as soft on environment, strong on industry. He is a devout Christian, and even though he rarely references his religion, (much less than Clinton did), he is "Pro-Life", and for that he will never be forgiven by the left. Peace not war, Environment at any cost, and a Woman's Right to Choose are three areas on which liberals WILL NOT compromise, thus making Bush the devil incarnate in their eyes.

Guess what? Liberals do give Bus credit for these things. If what the article says is true, he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The problem is HE SUPPOSED TO TO THOSE THINGS!!!! That's like saying Scott Peterson really knew how to pay is rent! Michael Jackson sure can sing!

Of course his administration can do those things, there's no lobby pushing against the homeless. Every president has their major accomplishments, but notice how these things are dwarfed by the situation in Iraq. Even people in his own cabinet is backing away from this train wreck. Either way, he's the President, and I will support him until the new guy arrives. I'm an American, I have no choice.

It has a lot to do with Bush hatred and it goes further back than just the war in Iraq. It goes back to the election of 2000 where many libs believe that Bush stole the election through a Supreme Court that was conservative and wanted Bush in power more than Gore.

But because of the stolen election everything Bush does is a fraud, and everything he does is illegitimate. This will never change.

I am not a Bush fan by any stretch, but I am willing to give a man his due.I don't think Bush is a bad person.I think his heart is in the right place.Unfortunately for him and the Republican party, his bungling of the Iraq war will be his legacy.I am aware of some of his good deeds, but the ones that get the print are the ones people will remember. He has alienated himself from most of the people in this country by his arrogance and stubbornness.Unlike Clinton,he lacks the charisma to endear himself to anyone. For any good he has done,he has balanced that with mistakes and mistruths.

They are unwilling to compromise and therefore are insane to ask someone to reach out to them, because they have their knife in the other hand behind their backs preparing to back stab you when you lean in.
