I Say Yes this country should have health care for all it's citizens. cuba even has this in place for her people, and the Super power just sells out her people and we talk about being the Richest Nation and who's taxed more then the Amercians on everything and the congress and elected officials take and take and we pay and pay. That should be a major issues in the Next race for the presidency.

The healthcare issues in the US are serious issues which must be addressed. I am glad to see someone is beginning to tackle the problem. The answers won't come easy or without much controversary but it certainly cannot continue as it is. Costs are so high for tests, that there must be patients not getting the tests done because the copay is so much money a monthly payment plan must go into effect to pay the bill in full. How many do you personally know who would like to retire but will not because the insurance is necessary? I personally see it as an atrocious situation which will only deteriorate until someone takes control & makes a decision instead of leaving it up to each state individually.
And to answer your question better - not everyone in congress voted against the proposal. See the glass as half full or a quarter full (whatever the percentage) & support your local politicians who support healthcare reform.
Thanks for the opportunity to get on the soapbox.

Because Congress is in the back pocket of the pharmaceutical and HMO industries. We are the only developed country that does not have a universal health care plan. I wonder if the Democrats will do any better than the Republicans.

Good question!! It just shows how corrupt and out of touch all politicians are - GOP and Dems. They claim to be listening to the 'people' and doing things for the 'people'. They are the only people they care about. Frustrating and maddening.

2 tier health care is really unfare. In Canada everyone gets the same health care...unless you are a professional athlete.
