During three years in the military in the 1960s the closest I ever came to getting killed, or injured were both friendly fire incidents.

1] Two groups of scared GIs, lousy leadership and lousy communications.

2] A sargeant of the guard going berserk, killing the OD, another NCO of the guard, [while everyone who could piled out doors and windows of guard hooch] and himself.

What percentage of the bodybags coming back from Iraq do you suppose are friendly fire casualties?

The fastest, safest, and least amount of time to serve. My career goals are to helicopter pilot. Not for the military. I know that through the military I will receive the best training and get more experience.

Bonuses for College Credits
Recruits with colllege degrees and college credits also qualify for a bonus. College bonuses may be combined with other enlistment bonuses. Members must provide official college transcripts prior to shipping to basic training.

12-23 semester hours of college = $2,000
24-47 semester hours of college = $3,000
48-71 semester hours of college = $4,000
72-95 semester hours of college = $6,000
96+ semester hours of college = $7,000

is this true, because i got 2yrs of BSN(Bachelor of Science in Nursing) in college... my recruiter never told me about this, he'll just always remind me to give my transcript of record to him... so I told him about the "college fund", now he just only wants me to fax my transcript to him... I told him that i'll just give the original copy, he insist and told me that i fax the transcript because it's more important... Is my recruiter doing something "dirty" that i don't know?

I just recently was separated from the military, ELS performance and conduct, and i've been trying to find out more about this type of separation. Before i was separated, i was told that i would not be able to get any federal jobs, but then other people told me that after a certain period of time i would. Everything I have found so far on my separation tells nothing about not being able to get a federal job. If anybody could help me out on this, or give me some sites with information on this i would greatly appreciate it.

I'm thinking about joining the military when I graduate so I can serve my country, get some experience in life, and pay off my student loans. I'll be about $30,000 in student loan debt. Will they pay this all off? Also, what rank will I go in as enlisted. Thanks

ps...it's a bachelor degree I'll be getting.

There has been a committee appointed to follow up on soldiers after they leave active service, and use VA health care, to see if they actually get good health care as veterans.
As a vet do you have any suggestions or complaints about
getting your health care needs addressed and remedied?

My husband was discharged from the Navy for simply being drugged at a party. I think the Navy was wrong to discharge him seeing as the MA's submitted a statement to his C.O. stating they believed that my husband did not willingly injest the drugs. He was given 5 days to appeal to court martial, all of which were working days (he worked day check). He did not have time to travel the 4 hours necessary to go home (Connecticut from Maine) to gather evidence to appeal. Is it possible to get the discharge reversed?

I have 2-3 USMC DI's coming to the Twin Cities and am seeking a high-visibility venue where they can display their talent. We will have some local personalities that will also be undergoing the rigorous battery of exercises. Come cheer 'em on or root for someone you bring.

Promotions, prizes and other give aways will also draw a crowd.

I sincerely appreciate your consideration and/or referrals of those you think might be able to host such an event.

I wish you well!
