Tell you what, we don't you go to Omagh in Northern Ireland and meet some of the bereaved relatives from the Omagh bombings - both Catholic and Protestant - who saw their loved one - women and children included - blown to pieces by IRA bombs. Tell them what you want to do. And run for cover because they will probably want to kill you.
Anyway the IRA no longer exists as a illegal Terrorist Organisation. They now, thankfully, fight their battles with politics - words and not guns and bombs. You could always join Sinn Fein if you wanted to be involved in Irish Republican politics. But thats a political party. They don't bomb people.
Most people in NI hate the IRA - they were a bunch of criminal bully boys who had no problem "dispatching" anyone, even Catholic civillians, if they got on the wrong side of them. Nasty evil little men.
Methinks you are a troll. Or an idiot.

I am sorry that you cannot find a real and reasonable way to join the IRA. Though they have been disbanded; and condemned as an illegal force I applaud you duine for wishing to join such a noble cause.
Though innocents may have died for Irish freedom by the hands of Free Irish Daoine it does not make such a cause condemned,
as long as you believe that a free Ireland, all 32 counties can be achieved than you have no further obligations in life than to stand tall, proud, green, white and gold in defense of our free nation,
separate economically, culturally and physically from our oppressive English neighbours.

The I.R.A. is an illegal (terrorist)group. You could be arrested for joining such an organisation. Anyway. where have you been in recent times? The group have just about wound the organisation and a peace full end to the troubles is now possible.People shouldn`t fight each other. Remember the old battle cry, " Make love , not war" ? It is still good advice!

Exactly why you want to is beyond me. But you dont have to be catholic. You do have to be an amoral sociopath. Expect to be shot dead by the RUC / SAS / double crossing fellow IRA men / the INLA / UVF / UDA / MI5 or bang up in Long Kesh for long time. I live in Northern Ireland and most of the people here (including catholics) hate and despise the IRA. Lets face it, IRA is no better than common criminals. They dress up criminal behaviour as a political struggle and leech of their own communities
