I'm thinking about joining the military when I graduate so I can serve my country, get some experience in life, and pay off my student loans. I'll be about $30,000 in student loan debt. Will they pay this all off? Also, what rank will I go in as enlisted. Thanks
ps...it's a bachelor degree I'll be getting.

Provided you qualify and the job you choose has that particular bonus, you can have your college loan paid off by the US Army. I'm not positive if the other branches have this bonus/option.
With a BA, you will come into the Army as a E-4. If you opt to become an officer, then you will be a 2LT, BUT you won't get the loan repayment bonus.

No. The military does not pay off student loans. You should have gone the ROTC route for that. Your beginning rank is entirely dependent on the job you enlist to do (you may be offered E-3 because you have a bs). You can start as high as E-3. That is pretty close to the bottom of the barrel. Look up some pay charts. Remember you will have about $300 per month in student loan repayment to subtract from that pay.

Enlisted personnel can get Federal Student Loans paid off in lieu of other bonuses. officers do NOT have CLRP. There is a limit to how much they will pay off.
Oh yeah, and even if they don;lt get paid off, you do have a deferment for at least the first four years of military service.

i'm not sure that if you're joining the military After graduation that your loans will be paid off, but i do think they will help, but not as much.
they usually give alot when you join when you go to college/
