the base vets will most likely NOT be available to you, most of them are not well versed in taking care of non mammals.
the base Vet's primary responsibility is the military working dogs, followed by Food Inspection. they only do inoculations on cats and dogs Space a.. and semi occasionally they will do spaying and neutering, but very seldom will they do anything else.
I any case, if you are single, you won't be allowed to have them in your Barracks, and if you are married, most base housing also will not allow them either.

I agree with Ckamk 1995. It will depend upon the base, and if the snake is in anyway dangerous to the life of humans and/or animals (like domestic pets or service dogs), they won't be allowed through the gates....legally. Even if base housing is off base, I don't think you will be allowed to keep them there as well.
Your best bet is to locate a local vet off base. The Vet on base is there to basically to provide care for animals owned by the DoD/government. They are essentially considered government employees. If a human employees have a pet that falls into the category of one of the 'government employees', then they can be of service. Outside of those categories or species, I don't think they have to do anything.

On most Air Force bases there is a base veterinarian. He/She should be able to handle some sick animals.

Probably not. I know here on Fort Stewart those type of animals are not permitted on base so the vet on base might not even look at them.

Very doubtful.
Bragg didn't treat sick animals. Here they do sometimes and will actually neuter/spay animals where Bragg wouldn't.
If you're on post you need to check with housing about your animals....some are not allowed.

Most installations have a vet clinic that you can use. If you require a more specialized vet, they can/will refer you off post.
