I imagine it would cause a lot of confusion if you joined the army and your first or last name was "General" or "Colonel", especially on the clerical level. For instance, how would they address you if your birth name was "Brigadier General"? What would they put on all the paperwork? How long before thre was a snafu and someone actually mistook your for a real General?

I'm looking into the JAG corps as a possible career, and I want to know how much they make. The army website only says an advanced pay grade.

My fiance is enlisting in the Navy and we had planned to marry prior to boot camp, however the recruiter told him that we should wait until afterwards that way he wouldn't need a waiver. The recruiter failed to tell us that there is no leave between boot camp and A school. My question is that if we elope the weekend of boot camp graduation while he is on liberty, would that be okay and not require a waiver, or do we have to wait until after A school?

My question is based on some things my grandfather and father were telling me about recruit entry level training. My fiance's enlistment and impending training in the Army is all the topic of conversation with the men in my family. Now I wasn't born yesterday (I'm 18) and realize that their experience is dated by decades but still I want to ask for my own peace of mind. He's a very sensitive boy and his mom never raised her voice to him nor have I. He and I always communicate in a very civilized manner. He's no wimp though; in excellent physical shape and very manly and brave. He's very respectful and often will intervene to assist people who need help. He never has money in his pocket because he donates it to the homeless people he comes in contact with. My grandfather, a Vietnam combat veteran says that in Basic Training the sergeants will yell and insult recruits. They have to stay up most of the night shining their boots. He said other scary things. I'm sure not true.

Iran's chief prosecutor Ghorban Ali Dori Najafabad has defended the death penalty by stoning describing it as a "wise measure".

"Death by stoning and all the measures contained in the Sharia (Islamic law) are wise measures' he said in speech delivered Monday in Zanjan, a town located some 200 kilometres west of the capital Tehran.

"We need to distinguish between the law of bloodmoney and the of executions carried out after the death sentence has been passed. The first is a right the Sharia recognises to the victims, while the second is a law wanted by men", Najafabad said

My husband is on a 6 month deployment on a ship. I have been having serious sanitation issues with my appartment complex. I have a small baby living here. It isnt healthy for him. Today was the last straw. I told them I wanted out of the lease. Do I need power of atourney before NAVY housing can help me out in an emergency situation? I have 30 days to leave. No Help... and nowhere to go.

Thanks. Any information will help. I have no idea where to start and I can't talk to my husband... he's on a ship.

My papaw was in the service during WWII and like most men who served back then he did not talk about what went on or where he was. He passed away 24 years ago and I am just now asking questions about him thanks to a trip to Washington DC I just came back from. Can anyone give me ways to contact the Government on how to get ahold of records? He was in the Army and only served during the war.

I've heard from friends that the M855 5.56mm has trouble dropping a target with one shot (unless of course you hit something vital). Spec Ops are using the new 6.8 MPC, 6.8 SPC, and 6.5 Grendal and report positive results in various AOs. Also heard that
Black Hills ammo had a Mod 0 (72 gr. projectile) load that is more effective than the M855 load.
So should the military rebarrel the M-16 series rifles to larger calibers or stick to 5.56mm and maybe a better load for the cartridge.

I notice a very strong hate/dislike for the air force from army and marines mostly. Why? Jealousy? Were they rejected from joining? If they think the Air Force has it easier why not join them? Lots of people have it easier than others, why the hate/dislike of them?
