Not likely. A marine is always a marine, with or without a cast on his leg. The Corps will see that he gets adequare medical care and will pay him. He will draw light duty,
Any time at home will come out of is regular leave.

It's possible, but not probable. I'm assuming your Marine is either in the Afghan or Iraq AOR. If he has broken his leg odds are he will be air evaced into Ramstein AB Germany, and treated at Landsthul Regional Medical Center right up the street. I've worked at Landsthul and it is a great medical facility, both of my kids were born there as well. If the medical staff treating your Marine decides he needs to come to the states for whatever reason then he will be sent to me here at Andrews AFB in Maryland. From here he will be sent to either Malcom Grow Medical Center (here on Andrews), The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda MD, or Walter Reed Medical Center in D.C. This is where the determination of his final care will be (i.e. he'll stay in the National Capitol Region or be dispersed to one of the other medical centers throughout the US. After all his treatments are over his MD can authorize convalescent leave and then he'll be able to come home for a bit. Or his MD can place him on restricted duty and send him back to his unit. So, to answer your question it can happen, but I wouldn't count on it. If your Marine has indeed broken his leg, I'm sorry to hear that & I'll say a prayer for him tonight.
