well when you first sign up you will not haft to , they could care less what you look like and how you take in stride to your appearance looks , just as long as you pass the physical , and academic requirements to join, but believe this once you get to boot camp you will haft to do everything they say whether it is to shave your head , and yes you must keep a clean shaven face while representing our armed forces, what you do on your personal time is up to you , on how you keep your appearance, but when you report back to duty make sure that face is as smooth as a baby's but , but hey a little disipline never hurt nobody

While there are some accomodations for religous beliefs issues like facial hair and hair length can keep you from being able to enlist. This has nothing to do with any form of predjudice, but is due to the fact that full facial hair and/or long hair interferes with the fit and ability to use things such as gas masks and goggles and, depending on the career field, would be considered a safety hazard as well. The military also has a stick dress code, including issues such as facial hair and hair length and style. Only a recruiter can give you a definite answer however, so if you are considering joining, make an appointment to talk to one.

You have to shave your face every day and your head is shaved every couple of week during basic and yes you have to do it. Besides once you get there and begin to experience it you will want no hair

when i went throught there were kids that had never grown a facial hair their entire life....they shaved every day...its part of the rules...they also made them remove all religious pendants, ie crosses etc...that may have changed, but i remember the mormons were allowed to wear some stupid undershirt thing because it could not be seen in uniform.

That would depend on which armed forces you would like to join. The U.S. military does not allow facial hair or long hair touching the collar.

Yes, the main reason for shaving is to keep your pro-mask (gas mask) sealed. If you have ever worn one you would know if you are not clean shaven you can't get a proper seal.

Another reason is the cleanliness and uniform appearence, but it isn't as important as the first.

Your religious beliefs are secondary when you join the military. Yes you will shave.

That's the regulation and it doesn't matter if its against your religion or not. The high command prefers to see our footmen as clean as possible. If you went into officers training school and became an officer you have the right to grow a beard.

Yes you must shave. It is a regulation that is not negotiable. The only exception is a temporary medical reason, such as shaving bumps etd.
