decision and want to give me 10% w/ serverance pay. Does anyone know how this will work as far as my monthly payment from VA? Will it stop... I know I cant get both and it will take 24months to pay the army back based on what I get from VA, so will VA just not pay me for 24 months or is there a way they pay you some and pay back the army some. Will I have to be re-evaluated? I have Lupus and it doesn't go away, how will that be handled

I'm planning on joining the Navy, and I already have my college degree. This means I can go in as an officer, which I looked into. However, I also have a lot of interest in doing the world languages, or cryptologic technician (?), program, which is only for enlisted personnel. I understand both look good in the civilian world. Anyone have any advice or recommendations? Thanks.

He talked to a recruiter who told him that if he wants to re-enlist he'd have to go during the start of the AF fiscal year, and apply then since they only take so many pre-enlisted men per year. They also said that since he's been through Basic, he won't have to repeat it. He is 24 right now, healthy, and fit except for about twenty extra pounds. We know that losing the extra weight will be a benefit to him, but what else can he do between now and the next year start (next October, not this one) to better his chances of being accepted? This is a family tradition for him, almost all of his paternal family is in, and he really wants to get back in and succeed. I'd like to help in any way I can, so what can we do to get him in?

As a military spouse I was offered a civilian job on post running a museum. I was told that $40,000 was budgeted to hire a new employee but that I wouldn't be receiving all of that. How much money will I get paid?

Why couldn't Tillman be left where he was? A hero that was killed in the line of duty. But NOOOOOOOO! The anti-military libs had to keep digging until he is nothing now but an idiot that got shot by one of his own men. I'll always remember him as the MAN that gave up everything to protect the country he LOVED but now for many people he'll be remembered as the fool who gave up the NFL to travel halfway around the world to get shot in the head by friendly fire. It doesn't make sense to me.

My son is there now. From his letters it doesn't sound like he's received any of our (family) letters - he can write us. Do they keep mail from them for a certain period of time and if so, do they at least tell them that they at least HAVE mail? It concerns me a lot. What kinds of things do the recruiters lie about and get away with? I'm a bit concerned as he sounds disappointed and not giving much in details -- just bits and pieces and it's kind of confusing. Anyone with experience with this? Please share for this mom worrying --- really apprecite it.

About what percentage of corpsman that are greenside actually go on patrols with Marines. I want to out there with the Marines on the front lines. How many actually do this or do most get stuck running a clinic on a Marine base in Iraq. And if I go reserves first is it hard to go greenside or is a choice and do you deploy with a reserve Marine unit or can you go with an active duty marine unit.

In my country I have just seen the documentary called "highway of death" about the war atrocities in Iraq by US soldiers.

the documentary producer who is european could not sell his film in the US. apparently when any network boss tried they were sacked. I have friends in the US and they confrimed to me, that what they see in the news is completely different to what is seen out side the US. any one out there have a view???

email me if you want to know what actually happened on the "highway of death"
