My husband is there. I am proud of him, I love him with all my heart and I know that he loves me and our girls. The days since he left have been a challenge however I know it will make our relationship stronger and who doesn't need that.
I know he is doing the best job he can, I know that the soldiers he is with are doing what they can to help make a better place over there.
God Bless America and God Bless our Troops!

I have a friend who was killed in a Humvee that hit an IED. The Army gave an arm and a leg for him afterwards and during the funeral. His wife (soon to have their baby), has more things, donations, etc. from everyone including the Army than she's knows what to do with. On the day of the funeral, there was supposedly an anti-war group from the Carolina's that was going to come up and protest the funeral and disrupt it. Thank God they didn't show because then there would have been a few more funerals to be scheduled, I'll tell you that.
But anyway, he loved what he was doing, that's why he joined the Army. He didn't care why he was there or what the purpose was. He knew that he was there to fight with his brothers and sisters in arms and follow out the commands that were given. And he took great pride in that. I believe he died doing what he wanted to do and should be respected for that.

My husband has done one tour, and will probably be going back sometime after the first of the year. I am very proud of him for what he does, and he feels like he is doing the right thing. It is not easy to be without him, but I know that is part of his job. We didn't have any children last time, but now we have a daughter. It will be more difficult next time, because having a child changes things. She wont understand why daddy isn't there, and because she is only a toddler, wont understand when I try to explain. I am very proud to be married to an american soldier.

My nephew was there, for 2 tours. He is home right now, but may be called back again.
Our entire family supports him 100%. But it was very stressful not just for him of course, but for our family. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law especially were constantly worried about his safety, and he could only communicate with us sporatically. Every time we heard about troops getting injured or killed, we wondered if it was him. Thankfully, he came home safe but he lost some brothers-in-arms, which was really hard.
God Bless our Troops!!!
